"This is an incredible property -- the owners, the staff, the breakfasts, the suite -- a rich, comfortable experience -- like coming home each day. The attention to detail -- the stay -- upon arrival to departure -- cannot be fully described -- it must be experienced first hand. We will be back!!"
"The breakfast was excellent. However, there were small red bugs on the bed. In the morning we were all full of itchy bug bites. No sure if those were bed bugs or fleas. But the experience of sleeping at this hotel was really disappointing."
"The service it was great, nice people and every morning with a delicious breakfast, the owner is very friendly and polite, Aaron was an amazing person and helpful, highly recommended this place."

"Loved the quiet, secluded area of this modern metropolitan city. Historical features, spacious rooms and patios, delicious food, thoughtful service. I will return."
"I really loved staying at Gran Hotel de Merida. It was such a unique experience staying in such a beautiful historic hotel in the best location in the city. I stayed for four nights and the staff was amazing and I really appreciated all the attention to details you can see around the hotel. For example the light from the inside courtyard makes a beautiful pattern on your wall at night when it goes through the door. Anyways I would highly recommend the Gran hotel de Merida and I will absolutely be staying there again in the future. "
"Me quedé una noche y la señorita Alondra me atendió muy bien en la recepción. La habitación de arriba fue un poco ruidosa por las noches y en la madrugada, las camas son firmes. El lugar es un espacio perfecto para una sola persona."
Romance is alive in this gorgeous old opera house in central Merida, where actors still tread the floorboards and the sweet sounds of violins fill the air.
