Best summer getaway
This house was exactly how pictured and more! The place was very clean and organized. They had everything you could need for a weekend getaway. The biggest plus was the beautiful beach with private access. We were so happy that we could bring our dog and let her enjoy the beach as well. She loves the water! 10/10 would stay here again!

Great little getaway
Great little house for a family getaway. Myself, my husband, 3.5 yr old, a 5 month old and 2 smaller dogs. We stayed at the end of the summer season, and had the beach entirely to ourselves. It’s close enough you can easily and quickly walk back n forth with the baby. The 3 year old loved having The loft upstairs to herself. House has lots of blankets, towels, kitchen supplies, etc for guests’ use. There was even a lead for a dog. Loved it!

Cheeseburger Festival weekend
We came up for the festival. We had some friends come up for day visits as this rental is about 2 hours from home. We absolutely loved our stay. The beach and patio was great and location of the property was excellent

Perfect for our family of four!
Very cute, little home right between Caseville and Port Austin…so it was easy to visit both. We went in the middle of the week in August, and we had the beach all to ourselves. It was really quite amazing. You don’t get that very often in Michigan in the summer! Our little pooch loved it, too. The walk to the beach is very short - maybe 100 yards. Our only issue was with the Wi-Fi. It went out several times while we were there. We just rebooted the modem each time, but it was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, it was great. We would go again!

The property was better than describe. Great beach access and everything we wanted at the property! Great communication and the beds were comfortable. I also loved that there was a ton of bathroom towels. It’s the little things and that’s what they do right here.

Thanks Cheryl and Jim, We had such a fun time at your place! The location was amazing, the access to the beach was better than expected, and the cottage is adorable! The only critiques from our group were that the mattresses were not comfortable and the kitchen and bedrooms weren’t as clean as expected. Overall we were extremely pleased and can’t wait to be back. Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback. We were on our vacation during your stay & wasn’t able to do our usual “white glove” inspection. I’ll pass along to our cleaner. The master bedroom mattress is only 3 yrs old at most. We will budget to replace both the twin mattresses in the near future

Relaxing Family getaway
We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very cute and clean. We loved that we could have our fur babies along. The area was the perfect halfway spot between Port Austin and Caseville. Also the beach was just a short walk and pretty much empty. We spent time in town, had many bonfires, a movie night and fun beach time! We plan to stay again.

Perfect Family Retreat: Accurate Description, Open Layout, and Beach Bliss
Accurate listing description, beautifully redone interior with an open and accommodating layout for a big family. Ample sleeping spaces available. Would definitely stay again. The proximity between lots was a bit tight to the neighbors, but everyone was friendly. Beach access was fantastic, with clear and clean sand and water.

Fantastic Stay
I rarely leave reviews, but I wanted to convey my satisfaction with this place. It's quiet and relaxing. Very easy to get to the beach, which is beautiful. The deck on the beach is perfect for sitting, having a drink and watching the kids play in the water. The backyard has a great fire pit and grill. Port Austin is a 15 minute drive and a great little Michigan beach town. There is a nice hiking area about 8 minute drive from the property. Communication with the owner was impeccable. Overall, we hit the nail on the head for this quick vacation to get away from the city.

A weekend refresher
My husband, our 2 smaller dogs and I were lucky enough to find this hidden gem! Had 3 nights away from the hustle and bustle of reality and the city. Rental had everything one could ask for, and then some! We were very pleased with the weather/temps: we got lucky! 70-80 degrees, low mosquito count. It is just off the main highway tucked back into the woods. A short 2 min walk to the beach. Beautiful sandy beach. Our pups loved it too. Great thin rocks on beach to be found and for skipping across Beautiful Lake Huron. Enjoyed the campfire, in the evenings. Lots to see and do. Loved the binder in cottage of attractions, things to do. We happen to catch the Caseville car show. It was a lot of fun. Cheryl was always available by text/phone. Answering all of our questions and a wonderful hostess. Thank you for the cute magnet gift that you made. It is a perfect rememberance of a perfect weekend. Loved your little treasure of a cottage. Thanks for the reboot!

Wonderful anniversary getaway!
My husband and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary with our little toy poodle included. This pet-friendly cottage and its location proved to be just perfect for us for the occasion. We had not explored this part of the Michigan thumb before and since it was the weekend after Labor Day, we had Lake Huron and vicinity all to ourselves! Communications with the host were EXCELLENT...very responsive and quick. Loved their lakeside deck and sandy beach area...wonderful sunsets! Metal ring firepit in the evenings for smores and picnic table for breakfast in the mornings. Plenty of hot water for showers, comfortable queen bed, and well-equipped kitchen. Wood for firepit can be purchased along the road into Port Austin. Small IGA grocery store in Port Austin, Meijer and Walmart 20 minutes away in Bad Axe. We had everything we needed for a most comfortable and lovely stay. Definitely would come again! THANK YOU!!

Great beachy cottage
This little cottage is decorated nicely with a beachy theme. Very clean. Bed linens smelled freshly laundered. Lots of room for family of 5. Everything you need is stocked in the house. We enjoyed the board games and plenty of videos to watch in case of rain. Gas grill, fire pit, outside chairs were great. Beach was clean and had a nice sandy bottom-we had it all to ourselves. Beautiful sunsets. Very limited parking. Would stay again. Quite a little gem to stay at while enjoying Lake Huron. Thanks Cheryl!

Perfect Beach
My family of four stayed two nights at this cottage, and it was the perfect amount of space for us. The rental was clean, and a bonus was the washer/dryer available with detergent and dryer sheets. The walk to the beach is incredibly short, and the view is absolutely amazing. The beach was quiet and offered a calm atmosphere. Communication with the owners was quick and thorough. A definite recommend!

Very clean
Home was clean and updated. Mattresses in the loft and living room were poor. We brought a blow up mattress that was more comfortable. The yard is sand and weeds.

Thank you for the feedback. We will look into replacing the upper mattresses. We recd positive feedback on the sofa bed mattress in the past. The main bedroom mattress is 1 year old & everyone has a different comfort preference. The sandy nature of the region We can’t control! :)

Relaxing week in the Thumb of Michigan
The house is a short walk to the beach and there is a nice seating area there that overlooks the lake and the beach. The house was well furnished, very clean and comfortable, and was in a quiet location. We hiked the State Parks and natural areas and of course a lot of beach walking. We would stay there again if in the area and would highly recommend it

Cute cottage close to beach
The cottage was clean and cozy-well-suited for a fall getaway for my husband and me. We enjoyed the private subdivision deck and beach area. We never saw any other residents on the beach; in fact, we only encountered 4 people on the entire beach during our 5 day stay! The cottage is the second house back from the street and the deck is directly across the street with a few steps down to the beach. The beautiful sugar sand beach is walkable for a long distance. The cottage is ideally situated between Caseville and Port Austin and is a short drive from many restaurants and attractions. The two state parks in the area are worth visiting. The nicely-decorated cottage had all the amenities we needed. Cheryl was friendly and very responsive to all of our inquiries. The personalized welcome was a nice touch! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

What I liked most about the property was the constant reminder that you are on vacation! From the pictures to the hanging fish, I felt like I was away. Only 200 steps from the beach and awesome views. Only downside was poor WiFi signal - so getting work done was a bit spotty. Maybe that was a good thing...

Cozy cottage in the woods with a short walk to Huron
Located between Caseville and Port Austin, this cozy cottage is just a short walk to a glorious little piece of Lake Huron. We loved our stay here. The cottage was clean and the beds were comfortable. Just the right amount of space for a small family. The cottage does not have a view of the lake, but it is just a short walk across the road to the beach where you are greeted with a spectacular view of Lake Huron. We also enjoyed sitting in the back yard around the fire and listening to the sound of the breeze in the treetops above us. Great location--close to all you'd want to see at the tip of the Thumb. Great value!

Dream Cottage
We had the most amazing time in this cozy cottage. The house was clean and the decor made it look like it was just out of a magazine. Beds were comfortable with plenty of nice pillows and bedding. The neighbors were super quiet - didn't even know they were there! Plus, bonus on top of all of this - the private beach was so nice and relaxing. I can't say enough about what a great time we had. Also, the owner was super responsive and helpful, even had a cute welcome sign with our name on it - what a great touch. We will be back again.

A very quiet & private area for our family! We loved the cabin & we look forward to staying again!
Cheryl is a wonderful host and she went above & beyond to make sure we could find the cabin & we’re settled in. There was even a family welcome & bday wishes for my husband on the chalkboard! So grateful for AC the first humid night. The private beach was perfect for our us. With a 19 & 9 year old-they could play & splash freely. We were checked in Wed.-Friday and had the whole private beach to ourselves all afternoon Thursday. Recommend taking snacks & groceries like we did. Some restaurants & smaller businesses (all along the coast too) don’t seem to have survived the pandemic. The cabin is cozy and we are looking forward to renting it again next year sometime.

Great Family Getaway
Nice cozy home to stay in for a family of 4. The kids loved the upstairs area, the yard for bonfires was peaceful and quiet. Private beach access was great, we had it to ourselves the day we went. You do have to drive into town if anything is needed, but that wasn’t a major issue. Cool 18 hole putt putt course and ice cream spot 5 miles down the road made for a fun evening. Would definitely rent again!

This property was so cute and the perfect size. We had enough room for the babies to be comfortable and also us adults. I have 2 little ones(2yr and 9 mo) my husband and father in law. I wanted something to spend most of our time outside and still have room inside. She accommodated for all ages!
