Castro de las Gaviotas

i really don’t understand how this hotel was a 5 star hotel - it looked like a 2 star hotel. It was very old, rundown, and did not have the best customer service. Their parking situation was atrocious and they wouldn’t serve dinner till 8pm and lunch till 1:30pm. it was located in a noisy neighborhood and you could hear everything outside.

Beautiful property. Grounds & rooms aesthetically pleasing. Pool was nice & drinks were delicious. Not the most practical place - small kitchen with no dish cloth, pots/pans, dish soap. The property’s restaurant is closed Monday - Wednesday and there aren’t a lot of options for dining. We went to the grocery store since we couldn’t find a restaurant nearby w/availability until 9:30. You are limited with what you can prepare due to the lack of equipment. Just keep this in mind. Sofa cover dirty and needed to be washed, food residue from prior guests on table when we arrived.

The apartment was very clean and modern and was well equipped. It was also very quiet. We even got to watch a movie on Netflix. We had a hard time getting to it but it really is easy. Set your gps to Parqueo Longoria. There is an elevator up to the plaza and then it’s not even a block away. Make sure you use 8 Calle Caveda. Make sure to visit La Avenida De Cidra which is very close. We had a great meal at Tierra de Asturia.
