"This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and Peggy’s home truly became our home away from home. We absolutely loved our stay.Uvita is a wonderful little town with a great grocery store and some seriously delicious food. We highly recommend Seba, Restaurante Los Barriles, and Los Laureles. The drive from town up the mountain takes about 20 minutes, and you definitely need a 4x4, but don’t let that scare you. The road is well maintained and the drive was part of the adventure.The house itself was perfect for us. We loved the layout and cooked quite a bit using fresh local fruit, vegetables, and meat. The kitchen had everything we needed to make full meals.But that VIEW. Pictures simply cannot do it justice. It seemed to change every day. Bright sunshine, fog rolling through the mountains, watching a storm come in, or seeing the clouds lift to reveal the Whale’s Tail below. Sitting by that beautiful pool every morning and taking it all in felt like a dream.The landscaping and wildlife made it even better. My bird app identified more than 30 species during our stay, including toucans. We even watched a coati climb a tree right outside our bedroom window to eat fruit!Communication was excellent. It took me a little while to get WhatsApp figured out, but everyone was patient and helpful.This place gave us exactly the Costa Rican adventure we were hoping for while still feeling completely at home. The property is beautiful and incredibly well cared for.If I could change"

"We loved this house! We had 3 kids and 5 adults, and everyone loved it! So so much wildlife -- monkeys, lizards, frogs, spiders, birds, coati mundi....The pool was so nice and everything was very clean! All the AC units worked great, the balcony was breathtaking and it was nice having a 2nd house/pool so everyone could have their own space. We had a few open afternoons and we opted to stay at the house because we loved it so much. You definitely need 4WD or AWD as there is a steep incline on a rocky road to get to the house. By the end of our stay, I enjoyed the drive to and from the house -- it was an adventure of it's own. There is a grocery store at the bottom of the hill that had everything we needed. It was about a 10-15 min drive to Whale's Tail beach and about 1 hour and 20 minute drive to Manuel Antonio."
