Lovely stay in beautiful modern hotel. Wonderful dinner with attentive waiting staff. Small gripe regards breakfast, they offer table service which is a nice touch. However, order took forever to come out.

My first choice in Cavan
Kilmore hotel is a really nice place to be, nice lobby nice bar and a very good menu. The room I had was spacious and very comfortable with good facilities. Very good value via Hotels.Com as well.

The Kilmore as usual lives up to its excellent reputation! I stayed over for my friends wedding and the hotel was simply brilliant, i would rate its wedding food as some of the best i have ever had! Staff were all extremely friendly!

The hotel is just outside Cavan and easy to find. The grounds are well maintained and there is parking, although the spaces are fairly tight. Reception was welcoming and our check-in was friendly and efficient. Our bedroom was a good size and nice and bright. All the amenities you would expect, including good size fluffy towels. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We had dinner in the bar, which has a reasonable menu. The food was tasty and hot, certainly very good portion sizes. We changed our table so we didn't have to watch the big screen tv. Breakfast is buffet apart from the hot food order. There was a good range of food available and the full Irish was very good. A couple of slight gripes, the toaster hardly warmed the bread and you are asked not to put it through again as it will burn! The mugs are only just big enough for the hot drinks despensed. We liked the decor throughout but it was a shame the display cases were dirty. The floor in the dining room got very mucky and there was a build-up of dirt around the skirting boards.

DISAPPOINTING - after a previous good stay
We chose to return to the Kilmore Hotel for our 49th wedding anniversary, having had a very pleasant experience in this hotel previously. Positively - the hotel still looks very well on the exterior - the grounds are stunning, with beautiful foliage and flowers, and the fountains are attractive. The room was good, clean and extremely quiet. An added bonus was a lovely "Welcome" with chocolate fudge cake and strawberries - thank you very much, as this was appreciated. Sadly - there are negative remarks to be made. We booked for dinner in the restaurant (grill bar) as we did not like the official restaurant last time we visited it. When we arrived on time, we were told there were no tables available and were given a table for two out in the 'corridor' area, near the toilets!! It was very unappealing, cold and lacked any form of atomosphere. My husband ordered a main course size of one of the starters and I ordered a main course. His food came 10 minutes before mine. We had our drinks and then NOTHING FOR 30 MINUTES. We had been looking forward to ordering a dessert, coffee and possibly more drinks but were so fed up, we left and went to our room. The main Dining/Breakfast area is very grubby and the carpet is disgustingly stained. Breakfast was not up to the standard we expected. Poached eggs like rubber. Items advertised on menu permanently unavailable. Staff were very friendly but we won't rush back to the Kilmore Hotel soon.

Relaxing Breakaway
This was our first stay in the Hotel Kilmore but it won't be out last. We had a great 2 night break. The breakfast was cooked fresh and was tasty served promptly. We ate in the bar on both nights The service was excellent and the food delicious. Our room and the hotel in general was well decorated, it was bright with a nice vibe. We look forward to a return visit.
