Unique little cottage on the lake. Our family of 6 had a wonderful week. We especially loved the dock/swimming/kayaks and relaxing on the porch playing games.
Our family of 7 loved staying at Lake Leelenau! It was the perfect location for camping, swimming, fishing, sightseeing, and simply relaxing with a great view. The cabin has all the essentials needed for a flawless trip and the manager was very helpful and considerate. We would definitely return for another vacation in the future! Michigan is just beautiful!
This cottage is vintage northern Michigan. If you are looking for charming Up North style, you're in the right place. If you're looking for new/luxury, keep looking.
Property was in a great location on the water! Decor was a little dated and Lots of knick knacks that were very tempting for our little ones to play with. Had to keep a vigilant eye on them to make sure they didnt break anything.
We had an excellent week at Memo's! Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay there very much. The cabin was clean and well-equipped, and the lake view was fantastic. My daughter and enjoyed the kayaks and all 4 of us had fun playing Uno and puzzles almost every night and enjoying a bonfire.
The cabin has a unique charm. We loved looking at all the little knick knacks...light switch covers, door knocker, bottle opener, old maps of Leelanau, the old (and many) postcards from your family, the old Traverse City newspaper from Ford's visit, and the MANY owls and birds throughout.
Thank you for sharing your lovely piece of property on Lake Leelanau!
We liked the up north feel of the log cabin experience. A comfortably cooled vaulted ceiling living room. A beautiful view on the back 4 seasons room. Lake leelenau is great for our little hobie. There are not a lot of boats out on that gorgeous lake and plenty of wind and water. It is less than 2 minute drive to bel lago which is one of the best wineries on the peninsula. Cedar is a great resource. the coffee shop and the market in particular. so many goodies. we hope to come back and stay again.
We needed a getaway weekend. This was the perfect place. Wish the weather cooperated a little more but we still had amazing time. We able to sit by the lake and drink morning coffee or an after dinner drink. Thanks a great time!

Wonderful place!
We loved our stay! The cottage was very quaint. The owners made it look cozy and very comfortable. Loved the furniture, the front porch, the beds, the view, and the little extra touches like some photos we saw on the wall of the cottage years ago. We loved every detail. It was in range of Traverse city and little towns where we did a lot of shopping. The neighbors even invited us down for music and BBQ in honor of labor day.
Very excellent view and beautiful sunrises and moonrises on the lake - property was slightly musty - needs a good deep cleaning but otherwise excellent stay!!! And luckily, we ended up only have 4 people - with only one bathroom, it would have been hard to have 6 adults in the cabin...

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet part of Cedar, close to nature and local attractions. It has great charm and the potential to be a truly special getaway. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the character of this older, family-owned home.We know how much Memo meant to the family, and the cottage reflects that love. It’s a generational home, full of warmth and history, and clearly a work in progress — but it should be priced and listed accordingly. This is not a negative review of the owners or the property itself, but of the management company and their inability to maintain proper cleanliness. Upon arrival, we found several items left from previous guests: an open bottle of vodka, a used razor in the bathroom trash, greasy pans in the oven, a funeral program in the hutch, and even a contact lens that ended up on my wife’s phone after she set it on a table. For the price, we expected hotel-level cleanliness. We were so dissatisfied we left a day early, but the management company refused to refund the unused night. With improved housekeeping and an accurate listing, this could be a truly wonderful rental experience.
Overall this cabin will serve it’s purpose, but it is very outdated. Great location, on the water and that’s really all that we were looking for. We’d rent this cabin again.
nice little cabin. beautiful view. the weather was mostly cold but it was still nice to see the water. the sinks could use some work
and the furnace was hard to figure out for 4 women in their 60's.the directions could have been clearer. otherwise, nice.
Memo's Treasure is a treasure indeeed! The cottage is a perfect throwback to many people's childhood coming to Lake Leelanau.
The layout was great for our family of 5, and with the 3-season porch, there were plenty of indoor spaces for a rainy day. But the best part was the lake! It was so warm, and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. We were able to use the mooring ball to tie up our own boat.
The lot is small and there are neighbors close by, but everyone was very respectful, quiet and friendly. It was also nice being just a few minutes away from Cedar if we needed to run into Buntings for any odds and ends.
It is such a beautiful location and setting. The cabin is functional and clean but there are SO many Knick knacks that prohibit the use of counters, shelves and other storage areas. Some of the windows are painted shut and won’t stay up. One bedroom is very dark with contact paper covering the glass. The air conditioner is old and noisy. There is a musty smell that could be eliminated by screen doors and cross ventilation. The best part is the sun room, the lawn and the lake.
We have had compliments on the photographs from 3 friends and we have shared your information, the cabin is fun and a great location for exploring the peninsula.

Cute cabin with great yard and beach/ lake access
This cute cabin is in a great location and Lake Leelanau is beautiful. The kayaks were fun and added a nice activity.
The cabin itself is cute but the furnishings are dated, as are many of the finishes.
Overall, it was a great spot and the weather was beautiful. A very fun place to vacation!

beautiful outdoor space
My husband and I stayed for the week. We had a wonderful time. It's close (but not too close) to grocery and Traverse City. Cabin is cozy, but the decor is very eclectic. It took some getting used to. Overall we had a very memorable trip.
