Inspect the range of pieces in the exhibit dedicated to Iowa-born Grant Wood. His works depict the American Midwest through the media of ink, charcoal, metal and other materials. Organize a trip to the Grant Wood Studio, a few blocks northeast from the museum, to see where the artist toiled in the early 1900s.

Other notable artists whose works adorn the gallery walls include Mauricio Lasansky, Jun Kaneko and Bertha Jaques. See the Roman busts, paper prints and photographs and explore the range of temporary exhibitions that pass through this active museum.

Do some pencil sketching of the paintings in this friendly and inclusive gallery. Snap photos of your favorite works of art and chat with the engaging staff members. Choose from the range of souvenirs and memorabilia in the Museum Store, where you can also purchase drinks.

Visit the museum Tuesday through Sunday during open hours from noon until late afternoon. It opens a little earlier on Saturdays and remains open until evening on Thursdays.
