What a lovely old house, full of fun spaces and bedrooms for the full family. A great big kitchen, large dining room, game room and more- gave us space to be together, and apart!
We had a nice stay at the Wisteria Inn. It is a spacious home, and we appreciated its historic charm. The owner/manager was responsive, and we did not have any significant issues with the property during our stay. The configuration of the bedrooms is non-standard, but not an issue for us as we only needed to use 3 of them.
This house is INCREDIBLE!! The decor is wonderfully whimsical and every room has beautiful character. The enormous fireplace was wonderful to warm up the bottom floor and the kitchen had everything we needed for a private chef to make an amazing 4 course meal for the guests. The house is very clean and the check in and check out process couldn’t have been easier. Our party suggested we make this a yearly get together at this same house. Vicki was a great host and always responded to my questions quickly. This is a superb property for hosting an event or just relaxing for a vacation.
This place was perfect for our family of 17. Space was exceptional and the house, yard and location were stellar. We were able to accommodate friends and family from the wedding location for a great gathering. The host was fantastic to work with and so flexible ensure we had a successful weekend. Thank you and would highly recommend this place.
We has a fantastic stay at this beautiful historic lodge. The property is rich with character and charm offering a peaceful and inspiring setting that made our visit truly remarkable. The highlight for us was how spacious the house is with a first rate kitchen well-equiped for hosting large meals. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, and while only one was on the first floor, the layout worked well for our family. There are two dining areas and a cozy, inviting living room that made it easy to spend time together. As an added bonus there is a game room with pool, air hockey and other games. All in all, this is a wonderful venue for families, group gatherings, or small events. Would recommend to anyone looking to host a special occasion.
The house is amazing! So pretty, big, organized, and well-decorated. The kitchen and the outside area were my favorite part.
We really enjoyed staying there and Vicky was a great host helping us all the time with everything that we needed
This property is perfect for a large gathering. The grounds are lovely. We enjoyed the patio and the fire pit. There is plenty of room to spread out. Inside is charming and well-equipped. There are some nice touches - plenty of nightlights to show the way to the bathroom at night, lots of spices available in the kitchen. There were no clear instructions on check-out procedures and the host did not respond to my message asking about it. I would highly recommend this place.
Wonderful home and grounds/gardens. Plenty of space for two families. More bedrooms available than advertised. Super convenient to everything in Chadds Ford area. Vicki (host) was wonderful to work with.
A perfect place for our 60th birthday celebration!
This property was the perfect compliment to my 60th birthday. EVERYONE was comfortable and felt welcomed the moment they walked in the home. Vicki the host was the absolute BEST! She was gracious and very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely book here again. The rooms were spacious and the grounds BEAUtIFUL!
We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at this amazing historical inn. The house was so comfortable, clean and well appointed. The grounds were well landscaped with plenty of setting areas for large groups. Very relaxing. You will not be disappointed. We plan on returning to do all the things we didn't have time for in one weekend. Vicki, thank you for everything.
This historical home was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, Vicki was attentive and made our stay perfect. The house has such history and the set up to accommodate a group is super.. Our group of 18 people moved freely throughout the house. We had multiple rooms to sit in for eating and visiting, as well as the game room with the pool table and air hockey. The backyard is exquisite with the patio, fire pit, etc. We even saw multiple deer and a fox while we were there.
We wish this VRBO continued success. Don’t hesitate to grab it! It’s a gem!
Perfect for before & after wedding gathering spot for family & friends
Loved the spacious home, the beautiful outdoor areas, and the large kitchen. The huge fridge & freezer were so helpful in keeping us organized, plus having the extra fridge near the beloved coffee station was a plus. Lots of seating areas both indoors & out, this home was a perfect location for family & friends to stop in & hang between different wedding functions over the long weekend. (Wedding itself was at Tyler Arboretum). Coffee station was well-used. We also appreciated the new outdoor grill, it was so useful. Vicki was helpful at every turn, we can't thank her enough for her support. Highly recommend!!
Very good location for a vacation in Brandywine Valley
Our extended family enjoyed our stay in this well-located, historic home that was once a bed and breakfast. Lots of room indoors and out for a larger family gathering. Nice big kitchen with lots of refrigerators. Vicki the owner was very responsive to our needs. Apparently a strong t-storm blew through and knocked out power in the neighborhood for a few hours, but we didn't notice it. (Imagining generators kicked in.) Also, while the property is basically off of a busy Route 1, we were surprised by how relatively quiet it was inside. Big thumbs up there. All the big attractions we wanted to see were like within 10-15 minutes away. Super easy.
The venue was a little tricky to find and needed more visible address markers. However, once we arrived we were welcomed with a nice, large kitchen which was great for family meal preparation. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes, stemware, utensils, and cookware.
The upstairs room layout is a little tricky, but once you figure it out, it’s fine. There was adequate space for our party of 17.
Would be great if there were a large screen TV in the family/living room, perhaps in front of the huge fireplace, where family could watch holiday sports together.
The host was outstanding. We communicated several times before our arrival and she was extremely helpful.
I would highly recommend staying here. We booked here after another place canceled our stay at the last minute. Vicki was great to work with. She was helpful with check-in and when one of the doors got locked from the inside she sent someone over right away and fixed it. We had our daughter’s wedding in the backyard which was a beautiful place to have it. We had family fly in from around the country and the property was only 30 or so minutes from the airport. There is a fire pit where we did s’mores in the evening. There were all the kitchen utensils and equipment needed for our event including plenty of refrigeration space and a large oven and range. The bedrooms were clean and each one had its own character. I would definitely recommend having your event or family get together here. My family and friends are still talking about how much fun they had!

The place was initially hard to find, even though it was right in Rt 1. The house was very clean. It would have been helpful to know that it would be difficult for someone elderly or with physical limitations to navigate in and around the home. Lots of step ups and downs to get into different rooms. Uneven floors. It was rainy that weekend and the steps into the home were slippery. The house should be described as very rustic in the advertisement in VRBO. The downstairs bedroom was very drafty at night. The house needs painting and upkeep. The host was very accommodating and prompt when contacted about a couple issues and sent out two very nice gentlemen to fix them. Needs some better lighting inside. The grounds were lovely and flowers were pretty. Being right on Rt 1 was very noisy at night. In spite of these issues my family enjoyed our time there.
We had a great stay at this house while in town to celebrate our aunt's 90th birthday. The property was big enough to accommodate our 16 family members and we loved the historic charm. The busy road was a bit noisy but overall we had a wonderful time - thank you Vicki for a great experience!
This home and garden are so beautiful and unique. You can feel the history and my group had such a fun time. The house is very old so there are quirks but overall fantastic
