"Beautiful country house with lovely architectural features inside and out surrounded by meadows and woods. Close to many other lovely Renaissance castles, romantic little towns and- of course - the Loire. The house was immaculately clean, perfectly equipped to accommodate a large group of adults, every bedroom with its own facilities- we had a marvelous time a d are thankful to ou gracious hosts."

"La maison est très bien située pour les visites de plusieurs châteaux (Chambord, Cheverny et Blois par exemple). Elle est proche de la jolie ville de Dhuizon (moins de 10mn à pied du centre ville) qui propose une super épicerie avec des produits locaux de qualité et un super restaurant pour manger "Comme à la maison". "We had an amazing stay at Mme Sol’s house over Christmas. Unfortunately car trouble meant we were without transport but we spent the time relaxing, enjoying the full kitchen, comfortable lounge, fireplace, games, table tennis and badminton. The house is beautifully furnished, warm and fully equipped - everything has been thought of. Mme Sol and Mme Louchard checked in to make sure we were OK and provided advice and also bikes so we could travel to the village. We wished we could have stayed...

We would have been a little more reassured about the location if Google Earth hadn't shown a very cluttered area just in front filled with children's toys, a camper and other items, though! "The place was very pleasant for the base we used it for. The stay was somewhat spoilt on the last day with the owner implying we hadn't clean the kitchen floor or the bathroom. Considering we found children toys under the coffee table, part of a broken glass under the settee and a pubic hair in the shower his dig at my partners cleaning was totally unwarranted and if my French, or his English, had of been better my response would have been somewhat more vocal."

"My friends and I had an amazing stay at this lovely house. Especially the outdoor area was beautiful and the pool was great! The house is just a 10 minute drive from a lovely town and shops for groceries. The hosts even organised for us to go horse-riding at their horse riding school which was a great experience. Overall, we loved our stay and had the great time. Eloïse and her father were a great help when we needed it and they were such lovely people!"

"Ideally situated with just a pleasant 10 minute walk into the town and the chateau. Good access to main roads to visit other chateaux and countryside. Well furnished and decorated flat in a street of old houses. Parking is just around the corner. Francois is a pleasant and helpful host who lives next door to the site and is is on hand to resolve any difficulties or answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay."

Skip the crowds and bling of Versailles and treat yourself to this perfect architectural masterpiece (that is, the Chateau-- the hotel is disappointingly modern, with smallish rooms, but overall felt luxurious).
