"I was traveling alone and stayed in the Virginia Room. It was very clean, cozy, quiet, and nicely decorated. Sam was friendly and very helpful. 9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, 324 reviews
" The first night the room was too hot because we did not not think about turning the heater off. I found the bed to be uncomfortable and had trouble sleeping. The hospitality was wonderful and breakfast was great. We learned a lot of Civil war history. We were surprised to find that the other couple staying there was from our hometown also."

202 - Buchanan Room - James Buchanan Hotel
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, 4 reviews
"The term "hotel" is a little misleading as it is more like an inn where there is no hotel staff onsite. An innkeeper greeted us to check us in and give us a tour of the property. The room was very clean and comfortable. We also visited the onsite restaurant, which was lovely. The food was excellent! Unfortunately, there were no real options for breakfast in town and no shopping or entertainment. If you stay here, be prepared for a quiet night in."

"We stayed at the James Buchanan Hotel during a trip to whitetail for skiing and the hotel was my favorite part of the experience. It was cozy, clean, and they even upgraded our room. It was so much fun to go to the pub in the hotel. The manager of the pub was so attentive and polite and everyone made sure we had a great stay. From the moment we stepped foot through the large front door, we were captivated by the charm and character that radiated throughout the entire property. One of the first things that caught our attention was the enchanting doorbell, which added a touch of nostalgia to our experience. Thaddeus Stevens' Gettysburg Log Home
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, 160 reviews
"First impressions count and we all thought the house was charming. It is quirky but that is part of the appeal. It is centrally located and easy to walk to all shops and restaurants. It was also very close to the parade on Memorial Day which was nice. The back garden is large and peaceful if the weather is nice enough to sit outside. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. The stairs are quite steep to the first floor so it might be something to consider for those with mobility issues. There...
