  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Séjour à jaufrenie

Nous avons passé une semaine agréable et au calme ! Bien située pour les visites au nord Périgord et le sud Charente. La cour est très pratique et bien close, nos chiens étaient avec nous. Les propriétaires sont sympathiques.

vive la simplicité!

Bon séjour très reposant dans un petit coin de verdure au sein d'un hameau un peu perdu dans la campagne charentaise, très belle. Nous étions trois soeurs d'un âge certain et avons bien sympathisé avec notre hôte. Si vous n'avez rien contre une vieille maison et une simplicité sans recherche vous vous sentirez bien!

Très belle région, endroit calme. Propriétaire à l'écoute et connaissant la région comme sa poche. Accueil très agréable. Logement très frais en cas de grosse chaleur. Quelques toiles d'araignées à retirer quand même.

Location agréable avec un hôte aux petits soins , le seul petit souci est l'absence totale de weefi et de réseau, faire attention à l'escalier pour monter aux chambres qui est un raide . Mais nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances.

La Francia tradizionale

Casa accogliente nella quale rilassarsi. Spazi aperti che gti fanno respirare e bei paesaggi. Ottima base anche per fare delle visitie nell cittadine della regione. I propierati sono estramamente gentili e riservati.

Ancienne maison pleine de charme dans une jolie région

Comme cela a été dit dans d'autres commentaires, ne vous attendez pas à une maison neuve 😅 mais le charme opère vite, on se détend, on récupère. Les propriétaires sont adorables et prêts à se mettre en 4 pour rendre service. De belles discussions avec Jean-Pierre qui connait sa région sur le bout des doigts… et est toujours prêt à partager. De belles vacances, humaines et chaleureuses… Merci à tous les deux 😍

Joli nid en bordure de Dordogne

Une bulle de calme à la campagne

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour en famille. Après un petit déjeuner dans un cadre verdoyant et calme, nous profitions des curiosités charentaises ou périgourdines. Une région sympathique qui cherche à valoriser son patrimoine et dont le propriétaire, Mr Maziere a su nous transmettre sa passion, détenteur d'un pan de l'histoire des lieux. Nous y retournerons volontiers pour nous ressourcer !

een verblijf met veel hindernissen

De woning is zeer matig ingericht. Alle deurposten zijn te laag. In het (open)slaapgedeelte kan bijna op geen plek rechtop worden gestaan. De gastvrouw en gastheer zijn buitengewoon aardig. Maar een donker hol als woonkamer kan niet meer. HET ALLERERGSTE IS DE AANWEZIGHEID VAN DUIZENDEN VLIEGEN. zO GEKMAKEND DAT WIJ , NADAT DE NOODZAAK OM TE VERBLIJVEN (MUZIEKFESTIVAL) WAS AFGELOPEN, WIJ OOK VERTROKKEN ZIJN.

Détente Totale

Très belle maison rustique, très bien entretenu. Jardin clos, avec possibilité de garer la voiture, chaises de jardin. fraîcheur à l'intérieur ce qui est appréciable par forte chaleur. village isolé et très calme, ce que nous recherchions. La maison est vaste et bien agencée. Vacances surtout pour se reposer et quelques sorties. Le château de Lavalette est très intéressant à découvrir. Choisissez la visite guidée, on y apprend beaucoup de choses. Le musée de la bande dessinée à Angoulême, incontournable pour les inconditionnel du genre. Des sentiers pour la randonnée. Un baby-foot très apprécié par les enfants. Un relationnel passionnant avec Mr Maziere avec lequel nous avons echangé de nombreuses conversations sur des sujets très variés. Le calme le soir nous a permis, mes enfants et moi-même de (re)découvrir des sons naturels oubliés ou inconnus pour la plupart. L'absence de pollution lumineuse nous a également permis de découvrir une voûte étoilée splendide. Je garde un bon souvenir de ce court séjour.

Plus qu' un gite...

Par quoi commencer? La maison est conforme à la description, et même un peu plus: des jouets pour les petits ( et les moins petits aussi! ) un jardin très agréable et clos de murs (super pour les enfants en bas-age ) et une disposition vraiment atypique qui change du formatage des pavillons. La maison en elle-même, une très vieille bâtisse, est très fraîche au rez-de-chaussez ce qui est très appréciable dans une région chaude et sèche en été. Le charme de la pierre et du bois, une mezzanine surplombant le tout, des cheminées en pierre de taille, bref je le répète PAS UN PAVILLON! En ce qui concerne le propriétaire... nous devrions nous taire et laisser découvrir, mais l' honnêteté nous impose de dévoiler la réalité, sans la travestir ni être minoratif ou condescendant: la vie est faite de désagréable rencontres, de personnes peu recommandables et de tristes sires engoncés dans leurs préjugés, surs de leurs hauts faits... eh bien Jean-Pierre Mazière est... l' ANTITHESE de ceux-là!! Un homme charmant, attentif, cultivé, généreux, prévenant et intègre. Il vous fera découvrir un lieu, son Histoire, et avec de la chance, une partie de son riche jardin secret. Comme disait Bertrand Blier: Merci la vie!
