"The apartment building itself was extremely rundown and not well maintained. The staircase leading up to the unit felt unstable and made loud creaking noises with every step, which didn’t feel safe.The apartment was just okay once inside, but there were several issues. The bed was very squeaky with any movement, and the mattress felt sunken and uncomfortable. There was no central air conditioning—only a portable unit—which didn’t effectively cool the space. For a two-night stay, we were only provided one set of towels and washcloths per person.We did arrive early and were able to check in before the standard time, which was appreciated after a long motorcycle ride from Kentucky. However, we were charged a 35 early check-in fee, which felt a bit excessive given the condition of the property. I will say the communication with the owner was efficient. Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again."

"The instructions for this unit were a little confusing. The building security door doesn't lock and the entryway smells like stale cigarettes. We didn't realize door C opened up into more units, it was clearer from their private site instructions. I used the bathroom only to immediately find we had 0 toilet paper. We also had no bathmat, smoke detector was lying on the window sill, and an open, but unused band aid was within view under the bed. Cleaning needs a serious step up. Our friends (same building, different reservation) had no hand soap. Maintenance should so a once over, the towel bar is loose and the bed squeaks at the slightest move.We were grateful the portable AC worked well. The bed and pillows were fine. I have mixed feelings about the security of the doorknob. It's convenient, but I'm guessing the code doesn't change between guests. I'm not sure how many properties this host owned, but the checkout procedures caused us a minor headache. They want a lockbox with a photo of the key, but we never opened it, we weren't even sure we were given a code. There's a camera over the door which can verify this. The host responded to messages pretty quickly. I'm not sure if it's their messaging service or VRBO but I got multiple messages and sometimes illogical ones like reminders to confirm after I'd done it weeks earlier. This is my second booking with this host and second booking with issues, which feels more like a pattern than fluke."
