Host communication was outstanding, and the property is exactly what I expected. I walked the bike trail with my dog everyday. Indian Fields is a short drive away and it has a great vibe and good food. I settled in easy and had a very relaxing stay. The drive to Williamsburg was peaceful and well worth it as well.
We were competing in a regional B.A.S.S. tournament on the James River and the house was in a very convenient location to Osborne ramp and park. The house was as advertised, and the communication with the host was exceptional!
This is exactly like listed. Great communication and super easy getting in. Very easy to find. We greatly appreciated the coffee and snacks that were stocked. Beds were comfy.
We needed a modest little place large enough for my family of 4 and allowed me to bring my 2 dogs and be able to prepare our own meals. We were very near the dirt bike club we were there primarily for with lots of historic places and bike trail to explore. We loved the privacy and felt good securing our bikes on site. The price point was also good for the accommodations. The host was also very responsive.
We stayed 3 nights for bike riding on the Virginia-Capital Trail. The location is almost mid-way between Richmond and Williamsburg, directly across from the trail on the John Tyler Memorial Hwy. The amenities were just right: a good sleep, hot shower, comfortable living room for reading or TV. The kitchen/living room makes eating-in easy, but there are also local eateries that provide good, classical food. If you’re into bike riding, this mid-way location will allow you to cover a lot of ground both ways and good rest in between.
Place was quiet and clean. Easy access and good communication with host. It was nice that the living room had a door since we were using the pull-out couch for sleeping. We didn’t need to use the kitchen much but it had the essentials. Nice little deck and big yard. The temperature control was difficult, especially since it was so cold, and it would have been nice to have extra blankets available.
If you're looking to ride the Virginia Capital Trail you can't beat the location of this house. We came to the area for a triathlon in Williamsburg but need to come back just to explore the fully paved path. For those that like to cook, we found it to be tight quarters in the kitchen but made due. James was very attentive making sure our needs were meant and things were going ok with our stay. I'd recommend any of his properties based on the great communication! Plenty of games if you end up with a rainy day.
The home was clean and no bugs. There are a few broken blinds in the bedrooms also no cover over the front door window. Water pressure in the bedroom was low. Also should have put the outside light on since we came in later and rode past property since couldn’t see.

Disappointed
James (Property Manager) was fantastic to work with!!! Rented this home as it was closest to skeet range. Exterior is little sightly. Closer to the road than expected & traffic noise & lights were definitely a problem. Parking was great. Interior, opened door to most horrific smell, the unloved floors, soft spots = tripping hazard. We had a flood under kitchen sink & onto floor. Repairs could not be made til midday next day. The kitchen trash can was disgustingly dirty under clean trash bag. The house is spacious enough, bed was comfy, kitchen/bath seemed recently updated. It was clean inside just old. Would not stay/recommend to anyone. It has potential to be a quaint house though.
Very convenient for our vacay as we were biking all week and capitol trail was awesome. House was not cleaned when we arrived as there was a mix up with the cleaning people, however the company made everything right and we were very appreciative.
This place was great- exactly as described and perfectly clean! Amazing owners and very responsive. Would come again and recommend to anyone! Thank you so much!
This quaint little house near Charles City was perfect for us as we were looking for something near the middle of the Capital Trail to ride our bikes. This house is close to the 26 mile marker. It is a very rural area yet close to several restaurants, wineries, and breweries. We only went out one night, to Cul's Courthouse Grill, and it was excellent. Far exceeded our expectations. We ate outside and they also had a band playing in a nearby pavillion. The house was a new listing and all the appliances and stuff inside was new! The owner was easily accessible by email or phone, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needs. He also sent us an extensive list of nearby attractions with distances, as well as some history of the area. The only downside to our experience was the wifi was slow, and the house is close to the road(Rt 5), which worried us a bit because we had our dog with us. Other than that, great spot!
