Welcome to PawPaw’s Retreat your comfortable Appalachian basecamp for trail riding, relaxing, and reconnecting with the outdoors in southern West Virginia.

Owned and operated by Emma and Gage Bowen of When and Where LLC, PawPaw’s Retreat was designed with a strong focus on guest experience, comfort, and convenience for ATV/UTV riders, families, traveling professionals, and weekend adventurers alike.

Nestled between the legendary Hatfield-McCoy Trails and the growing Outlaw Trails systems, this property offers a peaceful place to unwind after a long day on the trails while still being close enough for easy access to riding, sightseeing, and local adventure.

• High-speed internet/Wi-Fi
• Fully equipped kitchen with attached bar seating

• Upper field overflow parking and recreational space

• Air station and Power Washer (developing wash area) for ATV/UTV use

Whether you’re here for trail riding, exploring the mountains, working remotely, or simply getting away from the noise of everyday life, PawPaw’s Retreat was created to feel welcoming, practical, and memorable.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full home and property with the exception of the basement, workshop, and garage areas. Guests are welcome to utilize the upper field for additional parking and trailer maneuvering as needed.

We respect our guests’ privacy while remaining available if needed. Guests may contact us anytime through the booking platform with questions, concerns, or recommendations during their stay.

Additional Notes:
PawPaw’s Retreat is an actively growing property. We continue making improvements and future plans include expanded parking, an asphalt wash pad, additional outdoor amenities, and potential camper accommodations.
