When I travel, I don't want to spend more of my money at hotels. My stay at the Red Roof Inn in Kanawha City met my basic expectations: hot water, working heating/cooling, working TV, mini fridge, clean towels and wash cloths, and a clean comfortable bed. However, there were a few issues: missing light bulbs and a leaking sink drain.

This hotel was the second in a chain of three different hotels that we were using for our travel the first hotel I’ve already commented on, but this hotel is clean. It was nice however, the next day I did see a roach when I was getting ready to check out so I had to undo all my items and make sure that none were nesting in my you know my luggage other than that it was OK.

The room was great. The outside of the property was a bit run down and the area was so-so. But, that is also practical and expected for the price point. I had a good night's sleep and got back on the road the next day without any issues, so it was a good experience.

The staff are a delight! The lock on our door was acting up and they were right on it! The only bad thing about this property isn’t really its fault. It was a little hard to find because the gps directions kept talking about “Truman Circle”…only there weren’t signs directing to Truman Circle. Finally saw the sign for Red Roof and got there…it’s close to everything while being tucked away from all the heavy traffic.
