Brown Door Cabin
Experience the mountains of North Georgia at this full-time homestead! One of four historic cabins on our property, located just 10 minutes from Fort Mountain State Park, 25 minutes from Ellijay, and 45 minutes from Blue Ridge. Come enjoy hiking, mountain biking, local history, or simply relax by the creek that borders the property. The hosts and their dogs are happy to let you enjoy your stay in peace, or to visit and tell you more about the area! The cabin is set on a 8 acre property, along with three other rental cabins, all original log cabins from the late 18th, early 19th century. The hosts live on the property, along with their friendly dogs. You’ll likely see them working outside, whether it be in the garden or with the chickens. On the main floor of this two story “dogtrot” cabin you’ll find a cozy living room, a full kitchen, and a full bathroom. The living room has a smart TV, books, and games. The kitchen is stocked with necessities for cooking, as well as a dining table for enjoying your meals! In the full bathroom you’ll find a washer and dryer that are available for guest use. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a full sized bed, the other with a queen sized bed. There is a half bathroom located in between the two bedrooms. There is a front deck and a back screened-in porch to this cabin! The front deck has a swing where you can enjoy looking out onto the rest of the property. The back porch allows a secluded space for more privacy. Sammy the cat may visit you while you’re outside. This cabin has its own backyard space, and in the winter you can peek through the trees and see Fort Mountain! Guests are welcome to explore all 8 acres! There is a stream that borders an edge of the property and a parcel of woods that is great for walking. If you prefer to hang close to the cabin, there is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. At least one of the four hosts will likely be on the property at any given time. Feel free to reach out through the app if you need anything, or flag us down if you see us outside! We are located an hour and a half north of Atlanta and just about an hour southeast of Chattanooga. Ellijay, the mountain biking capital of Georgia, is less than a half hour’s drive, and we are just two miles from the Pinhoti Trail. In addition to hiking and mountain biking there are historical sites, breweries, small mountain towns, and endless taquerias within a half an hour in any direction. All four cabins are located along a gravel driveway and are easily accessible by any vehicle. Look for the door color to indicate which cabin you’ll be staying in! One or two cars can easily be parked in front of each unit.

The area is beautiful and quiet. We loved the cats, goats and chickens. The host was very friendly and responded quickly to any questions I had. Definitely hope to stay again my next visit to the area.
I absolutely loved this home. Celebrated my birthday here with friends and it was the perfect place. Quiet, peaceful place to just sit back, enjoy each other and escape everyday life. Highly recommend.
Cabin was beautiful. The arwa was nice and safe. The owner was very nice and accommodating. My oldest son is autistic and adhd so having a place where he can run around explore and make memories is a must for us. Our cabin was up a small hill at the end of property with a fenced in back yard. The house was fully furnished and had all of the necessary accommodations just like home. Awesome stay my 3 year old cried when we had to leave because he loved it so much.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Toadshade Hill. The cabin was cute and cozy. It had all the compliments of a home. Sarah was very accommodating and kind. My daughter loved watching the chickens and petting the kitty, Pika. The Chatsworth area is unfortunately the only reason my family and I would not return, which has nothing to do with the cabin. The town was covered in trash and litter, and looked very run down, which is such a shame.

Very quiet, quaint. Rustic. Hope to stay here again
Excellent! Very nice, and very rustic but more than comfortable with all the modern amenities in a very old cabin. Just be aware that if the acorns are falling, they can startle you the first time you hear them dropping at night! We would stay again!
Great spot away from city in the woods, other cabins near but not too close. Privacy with folks nearby if needed, perfect for our catchup weekend ! Sarah was available if needed but no needs as everything was as advertised. Will likely be back as it is a beautiful area and cabin was comfortable.
Property as advertised. Four very cool cabins in rural Georgia. Not to far off 75 - we’re not huge fans of the Hampton Inns for and overnight if we have time - so this place was a pleasure. Easy to find and had a chance to hike the drive and down the road a bit after most of the day driving. Brief meeting with Sarah and the dogs, and couple cats and a few chickens - for us it was much like home. I’d recommend for those that enjoy fresh, quiet and country living.
