"We were in town for the 8u Diamond Youth Baseball State Tournament. John (and his parents) were/are AMAZING hosts. The boys had a check-in goodie basket and the most supportive, wonderful note of encouragement for the tournament. Not only is the property a super special place, pristinely clean, and a historical gem, but the communication, ease of the entire check-in/check-out process, and location are beyond description. John, Mary and Douglas are great, great folks and I hope to stay again in the future. Thank you John, Mary and Douglas for making the weekend even more memorable than we thought it could be!"

"Little weekend getaway one hour from home for MX training. Beautiful pond with lots of fish and sassy beavers. Son and husband fished as much as time would allow. Pet-friendly is a plus for us. We plan on returning in the future."

"This was a diamond in the rough! We had a last minute trip to Hartsville and Coker College had their graduation at the same time so our normal place we stay was booked solid. We decided to give this location a try and we were very pleased. Excellent check in, very comfortable, very clean, beautiful lakeview. The amenities were just what we needed. We will consider this location the next visit we make to Hartsville."

"The perfect little hideaway for the dog and horse traveler. Beautiful deck for the person to unwind and spacious genced yard for the dog to unwind. Little personal touches in revery room. Host does great communicating. "

"The charm of this historic cottage cannot be denied, and the commitment to preservation is commendable. Melissa was responsive as a host. There was a lot of space around the cottage that made it feel private, and a small space fenced in for our dogs. A few things that would have made our stay even better: cleaner cooking pots; real coffee mugs; better instructions for things like the outside light, and space heaters. There was also a lot of noise throughout the night from large trucks and motorcycles going by. "
