Liked: Cleanliness
A fuir!
Excellent: Harris the hotel manager was over-the-top helpful and gracious; attached restaurant had affordable and very good Asian and Western fare; the 'included breakfast' was one of the best we've ever had with Hotels.com hotels. Offered us to use bicycles (free); Safe location.
Good: cleanliness of room; no smells; no bugs
Fair: the condition of the decor
Other: super convenient if you are traveling on the train or transiting. Near downtown.
Convenient for catching the train. Nice room. Friendly staff.

Chiang Mai Challenge
Single overnight to catch the train to Bangkok. Great location for our purpose, but while the hotel 'looks good' going in, it is very dated & any renovation must have been years ago. Loud speaker announcements for trains disturbed our sleep & lasted until late & started early (4AM). Good buffet breakfast.
The best of this hotel is the location, next to the train station. However the hotel rooms are worn and look very old, it seems that it used to be a pleasant hotel but not anymore. In my room the sewage smell was so strong that I had to keep the bathroom door closed permanently. The AC grills were filthy and the room was not clean, there was a lot of dust and dirt below the beds. The restaurant around this hotel are below average. The hotels
is being refurbished - February 2016 - so expect banging noise during the day. I'd not recommend this hotel, for 100 - 150 baht a taxi may take you to much better options to stay downtown Chiang Mai.
good, nice place, easy to get to from airport, next door to train station. pleasant staff, helpful, courteous.
quite surprised it was quite nice in the room and hotel in general well kept.
It's too far from everything except the train station.... You need a motorbike or a bike or a car... Dealing with tuktuk or songtaew drivers everytime is very annoying... The hotel is old but they trying to make it clean but there were still ants in the bathroom. The breakfast was bad... I myself owns a restaurants for more than 10years so i know about this thing.. The food taste so much of MSG so in the end i ate only fruits.. They really need change the chef.
Arrived after a 14 hour train trip from bangkok found hotel across road from station it is spotless inside and very comfortable I wouldnt reccommend the breakfast next door had ants in sygar and juice machine you need a taxi to get into the main part of chiangmai but there is a 711 a couple of doors down would stay here again
