Das Resort hat seine besten Jahre gesehen. Haben wegen des Zimmers reklamiert und prompt ein anderes erhalten. Viele Chinesen übernachten dort - als Europäer ist man eindeutig in der Minderheit.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
A lovely setting. I do think that they try very hard, but the maintenance of the property is an enormous task.
This resort is amazing! The rooms are so spacious. The grounds/gardens are full of surprises such as rice paddies, hidden walkways, ancient buildings, etc. The most comfortable bed we’ve experienced in Thailand. The breakfast buffet has everything and it’s included. A stay at this resort is like overnighting in a luxurious museum. Even though it’s not located in the city center, it’s an easy taxi ride away. The resort feels remote even though it’s so close to the city. We did a lot of research prior to our trip and this was one of the best decisions we made!
We liked the fact that it was a uniquely beautiful and spacious estate. Some of it was a bit run down in a charming sort of way, but the overall impression was very good. The staff were excellent.
Perfect getaway vacation in a Heritage Park like s
Just an amazing property staffed by attentive and caring folks. There is nothing I would change about this place. Restaurants on the property are among the best We have visited in the city.
Stunning, unique, breath-taking property with so much detail and wonderful display of period architectural elements. Truly feels like being immersed in another time, set on 60 acres with working rice paddies, even saw a water buffalo. The staff was absolutely wonderful, eager to share knowledge of the property and of their heritage. The food was excellent... large and diverse breakfast spread, and beautifully presented Thai and Chinese cuisines offered (didn't try Italian). It is an expansive property, so there are some buildings and walkways that need some improvement, but overall nothing that would prevent an additional stay. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
The property was beautiful and the resort very large. We were able to take long walks and enjoy the architecture. The staff was friendly and we were always greeted with a smile. They made great effort to create such unique buildings / villas and common areas. The details were above and beyond. It was an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The resort was peaceful and rejuvenating.
It was an amazing and magical getaway for us. The grounds are beautiful, the craft village grannies were skillful, thoughtful and kind to teach us and share their story with us. Our deluxe villa 35 was a palace room with a king bed, indoor jacuzzi, downstairs living room and kettle. The campus was nice to bike around. We got to enjoy the steam sauna room coed style in the nearly empty resort and swim in the beautiful infinite pool. The breakfast buffet was the most exquisite and accommodating for vegans. The staff was super generous, friendly and accommodating. We borrowed a lighter for incense and they let us checkout later, browse around before our room was ready and offered us a nice discount for our day visitor to join us and stay the night. It was nothing less than magical. We plan on having an annual retreat back here to connect to nature, abundance, peace and earthy luxury. It felt like a trip back in time to Lanna kingdom or a chapter of a thai mythology book. Wish we could stay longer. Also, the reception was so kind to bring our grab food order into our room though we didn't order any room service due to their limited vegan offerings. Definitely recommended for romantic getaway, groups, families, solo or any travel you want!
Just wish there were more plates/ silverware for in room dining and maybe simple cooking. Then we'd never have to leave...
The hotel was amazing. They upgraded us to a beautiful villa overlooking vast rice paddy fields complete with a spectacular sparkling large pool and outdoor entertaining area. Nothing was over looked. The notable Chiang Mai architecture that flourished through past centuries was replicated and show cased through out the expansive resort, with attention to all kinds of cultural details. The food and entertainment were also wonderful. We had just spent four nights in an American five star world- renowned resort chain, and quickly realized our mistake. We should have stayed at Dhara Dhevi the entire time. We look forward to returning to returning to Chiang Mai and staying at Dhara Dhevi again!
Our 4 nights at the Dhara Dhevi set the standard for our entire 2 week trip to Thailand. It was by far the best hotel we stayed at, despite others being at equal to higher price points. Incredible service. Rooms that were on another level. And overall the kind of place that makes you have to pinch yourself to realize it's real. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Chiang Mai—despite it being out of the city center, getting around was always easy and cheap (we used Grab) and provided respite from the busy, hot city.
One of the most beautiful and spectacular hotels in the world.

The property itself was beautiful, but we had issues while staying here and I expected so much better for the price. I have a soy allergy, which I told the waiter when ordering. However, I was served tofu - which is soy - and I had to point this out and wait for them to make my food again. The food at lunch and dinner was also very bland, and overpriced because of that. You can get tastier food in town for much less. When I went to use the bathtub at the end of the night, the tub was dirty. I had to call and have the staff come clean it before I could use it. Once they were done, I got in, and there were ants crawling around the top of it. There were also ants all over the bread at the breakfast buffet the next morning. We checked out bicycles to get around the large property, but while we were riding them, the chain came off and my partner was injured. We played tennis at their tennis courts and the courts and surrounding buildings were in desperate need of repair. Overall, the room and property were beautiful and impressive, the show at dinner was lovely, but this was not worth the price.
This hotel is truly amazing. Grounds are huge. you need a bike to really explore it. But you have to remember it is a very calm and quiet place so if you like some action, people around you this place is definitely not for you. I would recommend this hotel for older couples or as a romantic getaway.
A fantastic travel in the past and in the Thai culture, although the hotel is 15 years old only. Very carefully crafted decorations, architectural design that reminds an old temple or a monastery. The villas/apartments are literally lost in the wood, and the hotel ends in a rice field. The visitors are invited to experience every day a new activity, from learning crafts to Thai boxing, or watch high quality traditional music and dancing.
The grounds are stunning and full of historic charm. While we enjoyed exploring them, this place has a lot of work to do to maintain a five star status. The villas are old and tired, very poorly lit with meager amenities and only moderately clean. A coffee maker (old school) was placed in the outside “living room” vs inside. No decaf was available. Receiving one wash cloth and hand and bath towel at each service (AM and turndown) seems stingy especially in such a warm climate where two showers a day is the norm. While all of this may seem petty, the worst was on the day we left we found a half eaten banana in our fruit bowl. It was obviously eaten by some type of rodent. We were extremely happy to leave this place.
