Comfortable, clean room. Bathroom could use updating. There was a kettle but no coffee or tea, etc. available. in the room. Pool was cooler than we prefer and was located in a shaded area in the middle of the building. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Can't beat the location - short walk to the night market, the Clock Tower and lots of restaurants!

Hotel review and local Irish pub.
Room was good staff helpful and friendly breakfast was not so good we only went in once did not bother for the remaining 3 days of our stay. Hotel is in a great location close to the night market bars and restaurants. The Irish pub turn left out of the hotel and left on the first street serrves a good combination of thai and Irish pub food. Staff very friendly with quick service. Also a good Italian restaurant on the corner.

Hotel Views not so great. Many local shops around. Best if you stay Sunday night to visit the Sunday Night Market. This was our main reason we booked the hotel.

I watched this hotel being built 40 years ago so wanted to stay there. For an older hotel, it is very nice and very affordable.

This hotel should not be rated 4 stars. More like 2.5 to 3 stars. It is old and dated. No air conditioning in guest floor hallways. Rooms are also dated. But Room are clean.

New person in the town
The hotel is in the civic center. Many shops are near by. At night there are many streets hawkers and food stores providing good food.

Old but good !
The hotel has probably seen better days, and the interior is quite old. However, our room appeared to have been renovated not too many 'decades' ago, and was nice and bright - and very clean. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We only experienced one glitch : At breakfast they wanted to charge me when I by accident broke a plate - never heard of that before. However, the front desk staff immediately dealt with the issue, and problem solved straight away. Location cannot be better, as it just opposite the night market and clock tower, but still quiet. All in all it was decent value for money, and I can recommend it as an option if you are not looking for 5 star luxury.

Very happy with the hotel
An older “classic property “ that has been updated and modernized with large rooms. Very pleased with everything about the hotel EXCEPT there are no in-room safes. Excellent location beside a fantastic night market.

This property was only two blocks from the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar which was our number one criteria. It was also big enough to offer nice amenities ( including a free breakfast with Asian and western dishes). We could not find any combination of location, price and amenities that could beat it.

Best hotel in Chiang Rai!
Great staff. Great location. Nice room. Staff spoke solid English. All drivers and locals seemed to feel highly of the hotel and knew of it. Great bars, cafes, and restaurants on the same street.

Good old hotel close to night bazaar
This hotel gives a feel of old style hotels common seen in Thailand around 20 years with antique furniture and decoration. That reads “old” but it’s reasonably well maintained. Just don’t expect modern furnitures like those managed by western hotel chains. The room comes with what you can expect from a 4-Star hotel but you have to ask for certain items like hair dryers. A safety deposit box is not available in the room, either. (You have to hand them to the front reception) At the time of my stay, parts of the hotel is under renovation so it may look more modern in the future. Staff is nice and honest in giving recommendation on getting around the city.

The rooms are way overdue for an upgrade,the carpet is really tatty and the shower was almost impossible to use.The whole hotel is drab with no vibe to it.Ive stayed here many times but I will avoid it in the future,it’s not good value for money.

Good hotel,I've stayed here many times and it's good value for money.Near the night market and also the local bar scene and massage parlors if that's your thing.Some of the local bar/cafes have excellent Thai food.

A centrally located customer- friendly hotel
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Booked tour to White Temple and Golden Triangle was cancelled by local operator at very short notice. Staff assisted to locate another operator and saved our tour plan from bad to excellent. Nice restaurant provided tasty breakfasts with sufficient varieties. Location of hotel is excellent if you like massage, street food and night markets. Very flexible in entertaining requests for extension of check out time.

Tired old hotel
Hotel very old and depressing. Room smelt musty, hard bed, disgusting view of derelict building site from our bedroom. Considering 2000 baht for a basic room, very poor value. Sadly breakfast in the same vein, poor quality, fruit at one stage , tired looking bananas. We will not return.
