Wonderful Stay

I loved the accomodations. Very comfortable, and sweet homey touches. Everything was thought of. The hostess was wonderful and checked to make sure we didn't need anything. Three adorable dogs to play with didn't hurt either. I would highly recommend.

In the heart of Downers Grove. The host was very helpful in finding the place. The area was well kept and amenities abound. As a tall person I had to duck, but that was no problem. 10/10 I would rent again. It was very convenient.

Perfect base for exploring Downers Grove

Denise is probably the friendliest host we've ever had. Her place had everything we needed. You certainly can't beat the location or the price. It didn't bother us at all, but the toilet doesn't have a curtain or anything around it, so be sure you're staying with someone you're really comfortable with! We'll stay here again next time we're in the area.

Convenience and quiet

We were in town for a wedding. The convenience of being able to walk to downtown Downers Grove was unusual so when I found this location to be available we jumped on booking it. The stay did not disappoint at all. Denise had snacks and the most positive pleasant attitude! She was an amazing hostess.

Dog Lover’s Paradise!

Wonderful hospitality! Denise went out of her way to make sure my visit ran smoothly. She even provided some dog sitter services. She has a lovely backyard in a perfect location to go to the city or enjoy the suburbs. My dog Rousey was welcomed and treated like royalty. My stay was perfect! Her little dogs are precious and made me feel welcome ! I’d stay there again!

The host was amazing. She greeted us in right when we arrived, and she really made us feel at home. She was very responsive and good with communication. The stay was very clean. There were extra blankets, which was good because it got cold at night. The host put together a little snack bin and extra water bottles in the mini fridge. I honestly would recommend this stay to anyone as it’s in a nice neighbourhood and really close to the train station, and overall a good place to stay. I also think the stay is worth the price.

Glad it was only 2 nights

Yes, it is a basement but it was very warm and uncomfortable. There is a stand alone air conditioner, near the living room. Didn’t help much in the bedroom. There is a fan in the bedroom which helped. There is a dehumidifier with a note on it to empty into shower when full. It should read empty at night so it doesn’t loudly beep at 4am and wake you up. Try falling back to sleep after that. It is very close to the train, which I didn’t use and restaurants/shops. Very nice neighborhood which is good because the only lock to the main door doesn’t work. The owner is aware. I played it off like I didn’t care but I did. The main fire pit had a bunch of green weeds and trimmings in it. Didn’t want to light it up as it would have been very smoky. The only reason I’m making it a 2 star rating is because I caught a cold just as I arrived. There was cough drops and medicine available which helped. I wasn’t running a fever either, the basement was warm. Denise was very nice but I didn’t feel comfortable. I would have left that second night but I wasn’t feeling well enough to drive the 4 hours home.

Cozy Oasis Stay!

I stayed at Denise’s lovely home for the month of June. She was warm, friendly, helpful and provided everything I needed for the stay. I highly recommend Denise as your future host. Her gardens are gorgeous and I enjoyed sitting out there daily. The location is perfect and is an easy walk to downtown. Most mornings I walked to Bonita Bowls for my açaí bowl and brought it back to the gardens to enjoy. I look forward to next summer and visiting again!
