"We spent 5 days with 3 other couples for a wedding. Beautiful, clean, spacious home. Very private. We loved sitting on the outdoor patio. All the comforts of home. Well appointed kitchen. A closet with games and puzzles - we even found yoga mats for our morning yoga outside. We would’ve loved to have a fire in the fireplace on the chilly nights but understand this might be a safety issue. An outdoor fire pit would’ve been perfect. Would definitely stay again!"

"We really enjoyed our stay in this vintage vacation gem. Tucked away in the woods, this little house is both comfortable and accommodating. After a day exploring the island, our family enjoyed gathering around the rustic dining table for an evening meal surrounded by books and soft lamplight. The large living room with roomy sofas was a great spot to watch movies and eat popcorn; especially during some heavy rainstorms that hammered the island during our visit.When the sun was out, the back deck was a great place to soak up some rays. And a beach is a walk (or short drive) away. Definitely visit the nearby highly rated Orange Peel Bakery for the best cakes and scones you will ever taste. Also in close range, the lighthouse has a parade of gift stores, ice cream, lobster rolls and coffee places to grab a quick bite. We had a great time on the island and this little house was a big part of it. If you’re expecting sleek and modern finishes, this property may not be for you. But if you’re happy to step back in time to old school Vineyard vibes, then your wallet will thank you."

"This is a home that - at one time - was absolutely stunning. The architecture and floor plan are ideal for a family vacation home UpIsland on MV. Unfortunately, the house has been poorly maintained, which significantly detracted from what could have been an exceptional stay.While I appreciate a rustic, lived-in feel, basic cleanliness and functionality should be non-negotiable. The area rugs were visibly dirty and clearly have not been cleaned in quite some time. The furniture showed extensive staining, the lamp above the kitchen table was moldy. The sliding doors were difficult to operate properly, and the screen doors had holes that let in insects.Personal belongings were scattered throughout every room and filled most closets, leaving little storage space for guests. The lack of any welcome information or house manual left us guessing about basic procedures like trash and recycling pickup, appliance operation, and check-out requirements.Most concerning were the unannounced visits from service workers. While property maintenance is important, guests should be notified in advance when workers will be on-site. We had an uncomfortable situation when the pool maintenance person arrived while one of our party was using the outdoor shower area.The bones of this property are truly wonderful, and with proper attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and guest communication, it could easily be a five-star rental. Currently it falls short of VRBO standards despite the premium price."
