Excellent place with very attentive hosts. Close to Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos and hiking everywhere. Great place to stay.

I did not go out for skiing and I don’t ski however the Casita was impeccable in the host was very gracious and accessible if needed. It was extremely relaxing and beautiful atmosphere.

This is a very nice adobe in a great location!Tom was very helpful. The gas kiva fireplace is a nice touch! All the amenities we needed and then some. Near the High road to Taos, which was a plus for us as well as the Sanctuario de Chimayo.

Oasis in the high desert. We saw so much wildlife on the pond; beavers, herons, turtles, ducks, many birds and even a raccoon. Chimayo is a sleepy town but is centrally located for day trips to many great attractions.

Birder Paradise

Comfortable accommodations in a beautiful setting. The casita is near the river and located on a small pond which provides a great day of birding from sunrise to sundown. The location is great for day trips to Santa Fe, Taos, Carson National Forest, Valles Caldera and other points of interest. There are good restaurants nearby. The hosts are very pleasant and environmentally conscientious. Nice place to stay.

Retreat at Chimayó

Beautiful quiet retreat at Tom’s Casita. It was wonderful to watch the wildlife and especially the hummingbirds. If you are looking for a relaxing spot away from the business and activity of Santa Fe, this is it! Also very close to the wonderful Rancho de Chimayó Restaurant—a hidden northern New Mexico gem.

Quiet Privacy on Paradise Pond

What a pleasant surprise! The casita and the beautiful surrounding property created a peaceful atmosphere for our stay. We found everything we could possibly need and want for an exceptional experience. Tom and Jan are definitely super hosts. The highlight of our visit was all the wild life around the pond, especially the beavers.Most relaxing and peaceful!!!!

A Slice of Heaven!

We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful casita! We were looking for quiet and off the beaten path and that is exactly what we found here. Tom's hospitality was way above par... even offering help when our train was 5 hours late arriving. This is the perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts, birders, writers, and those needing a break from the world's chaos. The kitchen was well equipped and clean, the king-bed extremely comfortable and the wi-fi reliable. Chimayo is centrally located between Taos, Santa Fe and Espanola, making day trips to historic and cultural sites easy, but you will need a vehicle! All in all, a great experience.

Peaceful Stay with Local Charm

This casita is connected to the main house but you have privacy. The owner is helpful and pleasant. The view of the pond was fun - we saw ducks, geese, birds, beavers, and a turtle, even in February. This is a small local community with some charming areas to explore and reasonable distance to other nearby attractions. We drove the high road to Taos, the Enchanted Circle, and back to Chimayo via the low road. Other nearby places we visited were Bandolier National Monument, Los Alamos, and an evening in Santa Fe to hear local musicians. Chimayo has a famous church, the restaurant Rancho de Chimayo, and is known for weaving. Cell service is poor throughout this area, but the wifi at the casita worked very well for one of us to work remotely, and we used wifi calling with no issues. The best part of our stay was the beauty of the area and living/meeting local residents. We learned so much about the local Chimayo chiles, and the whole area.

The road into the property is not safe for a motorcycle but perfect for an automobile.The home is very cozy, bed is comfortable and the owner has more than the normal kitchen and bathroom accessories. The pond just behind the home has turtles, bull frogs, beavers and geese. Tom is such a pleasure to talk to and is very responsive in all correspondence.Highly recommend!

This was such a unique place to stay! Sitting on the patio, we enjoyed watching the wildlife- geese, ducks, beavers, and a variety of songbirds. The casita was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped . Tom was a great host and very helpful.

Fabulous stay. The casita is spacious, beautiful, well stocked with kitchen/cooking supplies, local guides and information, and a front seat to an abundance of nature in the pond. We watched a clutch of goslings grow under their parents' watchful eyes over our five-day stay and many other birds visit the pond. Tom is a kind, considerate, helpful and very knowledgeable host. Highly recommended!

A lovely casita in a peaceful setting. I spent a week at Tom’s casita on a silent retreat. He welcomed and point me toward everything I needed and then gave me space and privacy for the week. I would definitely stay here again.
