About this property

Riccarton 5BR, 400m to Westfield Mall - free parking

  • A five-bedroom townhouse in Riccarton, sleeping nine. Room for the whole family or group, a proper kitchen, a private courtyard, and an internal double garage. Westfield Riccarton, the city’s largest mall, is a six-minute walk, and a little reserve with a stream and a playground sits right out front. A clean, roomy, affordable base for your Christchurch stay. Stays of up to 90 days welcome. For longer, just ask.

    THE SPACE
    ★ The house
Three levels. The ground floor is open plan: kitchen, lounge, and dining all in one. Two big sofas, a wall-mounted TV, a heat pump, and bifold doors out to the courtyard. Books and a giant Jenga for downtime. This is where everyone lands at the end of the day.
The bedrooms are all upstairs, away from the living space. Four on the middle level, one more up top with its own ensuite. Several open onto balconies with rooftop views across Riccarton. A heater in each, and fans for warmer nights.

    ★ The kitchen
Set up for cooking proper meals, which keeps the costs down on a family stay. Wall oven, gas hob, rangehood, full-size fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. Filter coffee machine, plunger, rice cooker, and air fryer. Granite benchtops and a breakfast bar with stools. Tea and coffee on the bench when you arrive. The dining table seats six.

    ★ Sleeping
Four queens and a single, sleeping nine. Fresh, crisp linen on every bed. Two bedrooms have their own ensuite, including the private queen up top. The other three share the main bathroom, which has a bath and a separate shower. A separate toilet on the ground floor keeps mornings easy with nine of you.

A little reserve sits about fifty metres from the door: a stream, native planting, ducks, a playground, and walking paths. Free run-around space for the kids, right on the doorstep.

    ● Little Spicy, big, generous Chinese plates made for a hungry group
    ● Sasuke, a small Japanese spot in the Windmill Centre doing ramen, katsu curry, and sashimi
    ● Ngon Ngon Bánh Mì, fresh Vietnamese bánh mì, crepe cakes, and Vietnamese coffee

Location, Location

The location, size of property and amenities were great. Everything you need is available in the house, the garage is a good size but would not fit a jeep. The outdoor areas and furniture was lovely and great. There are alot of bins outside, but your welcome booklet had all the info I needed, to know in relation to what bins to use and what we needed to do at check out. The cavity door in the loft room was difficult to use and in the end I gave up. The room sizes and bathrooms were great.

Excellent location, lovely house

Went there with myself, Hubbie , 8 yr old and two grandparents. Everyone picked a room and we still had a spare room. Three bathrooms meant mornings were fast and the bonus WC on first floor was a nice bonus. The place had all the things you’d need for example laundry detergent and a basket and clothes pegs. The location was excellent, big mall close by with a pak n save and lots of restaurants. The street was quiet. Speaking of quiet the rooms were well insulated/sound proofed, we never heard the grandparents snore once. The garage was big enough for our two small rental cars. Only negative point (and this was minor) was that we found some of the dishes and saucepans were dirty upon arrival. We cleaned them and did let the management know. She apologised and offered later check out as a way to make it up. Great experience, I recommend and would go there again.

Great rental property with plenty of space and good location for Hagley park . Only drawback was difficulty in getting into garage as house next door had 3 cars parked on drive .
