You will find your Happy Place in this cozy country cottage with private entrance, fresh eggs (chickens on property) & serene surroundings. Located near quaint historic downtown Christiansburg, near all modern amenities, yet tucked away on a secluded 4+ acre hilltop country like setting. Just minutes from VA Tech and Radford Universities.

Welcomed by your own large front deck with great views of our property, you'll enjoy your own space, our chickens living the country life, and a friendly neighbors black Collie (named Lincoln) roaming the acreage once in a while. It's a place where you'll experience a slower pace with all the comforts of home.

Colleen & I look forward to having you with us! We’re in and out as we both work, but we’d love to meet you in person during your stay.

Stayed here for graduation. 15 minutes to VT. Everything at the cottage is very cozy. Super clean and very inviting. We’ll definitely stay again!

VT Parents Weekend

This is our 2nd trip to the Happy Place. It is very clean and quiet. Paul & Colleen are great hosts. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and breakfast muffins. We will be coming back!

We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. The weather was beautiful Paul and Colleen were wonderful hosts. The cottage is beautiful, decks were wonderful. Had a great family dinner on the deck. Close enough to VT without all the crowds.

Great Stay at My Happy Place Cottage

This little cottage is comfortable and has everything you need during your stay. Paul and Colleen were great hosts and were very responsive. The cottage is decorated very nicely and was a great place to stay while moving in my daughter at VT. The cottage is very close to 460 and was easy to get to. The property was also quiet and beautiful.

Sweet place to stay

This is a great place to stay. We really enjoyed being so close to family! Nice and clean space. Very kind owners. The only thing I didn’t realize ahead of time is that the a/c is a single window unit which requires the bedroom doors to remain open at night. Heat throughout the home means this is really only a factor in the warmer months and honestly, it wasn’t a huge negative since it was only the two of us. We would definitely come back!

Great Cottage

We stayed at this cottage for my sons State swim meet at the aquatic center in Christiansburg. It was only 3 minutes away and couldn't have been better. The house was perfect. We weren't there much due to swimming, the fridge was perfect for us, but if you need to have a regular size fridge, this cottage has a mini fridge. The Cinnamon muffins and personalized card were also amazing. I only wish we had found this place sooner, as my son is moving up and we don't swim there anymore, but if that changes I definitly will be renting again.

Very clean, comfortable, quiet - host very communicative. This was exactly what we needed to serve as a landing spot for our weekend visiting Virginia Tech. Truly appreciated all of the little extras - water bottles and fresh eggs in the fridge, USB ports in the outlets, plenty of towels, fresh baked sweet bread treat and a nice note from the owners. Will absolutely look here next time we are coming down to Blacksburg!

Great location near Blacksburg

Easy access to shopping and grocery store. Comfortable surroundings. Beautiful nature and lots of birdsong. The chickens free ranging on the property is a plus. Love it! Highly recommend for small group of adults and maybe school age children. We were three adults. The bunk bed is a bit tricky on the top bunk for an adult. The queen bed is very comfortable.

The house was perfect for us and Colleen is so sweet and thoughtful! The coffee cake, eggs, and hand written note made the stay even more special. We will book more dates in advance so we can attend games next year and only want to stay here! It was a great experience!

4 adults fit comfortably. Very clean, neat, and tidy. Lovely decor. Yummy banana bread and eggs from their free range hens. Prompt replies to all our inquiries. Excellent situation - near town but on large semirural property. Deck outside with table and chairs. Might become our habitual pad when we visit our college student son in Blacksburg.

Perfect location for swim meet & football game

This is our second time staying here for a swim meet. We love this little guest house, it is perfect for our family of 4. It is about a 5-6 minute drive to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. Colleen and Paul are very accomodating and have fresh eggs and baked bread on the counter for you when you arrive!! The house is very clean and smells great. Love the mattress in the master and we always sleep great!! As long as this isn't booked, this is always my first choice VRBO for swim meets!!!!

Lovely little touches!

Paul and Colleen are fantastic. The cottage looks just like the pictures. They left fresh eggs from their chickens, and homemade cinnamon muffins that were delicious! The towels and linens are very nice quality. The bed is a foam mattress and probably a 9 on the softness scale, with 10 being the softest. Colleen, thank you for telling us the little places to check out in the area! It was a great stay, even though we cut it a bit short.

This was the perfect property for our recent trip to Virginia Tech for our daughter’s graduation. It is easily accessible from 460, making it a great choice for Tech activities. Everything was as advertised with an added surprise gift of freshly baked coffee cake and a lovely hand-illustrated welcome note! Paul and Colleen provided excellent directions and were prompt with communication. Unfortunately, we found this gem on our last visit to Blacksburg. If we ever find ourselves coming back I would most definitely stay here. Thank you!

The property was adorable and the house very cozy. The only thing is the refrigerator was SUPER TINY. We had 4 coolers of food due to a graduation party and there was no room. The hotel refrigerator held way more food than the house. That would be something helpful to know since the house can fit 5 people. Other than that, I would highly recommend this location!
