This place is let down by very poor design. The pool is a waist-high lazy river without a current. All except maybe half a dozen loungers, are located on a small strip of fake grass next to a fence which is right next to àn incredibly busy road (not brilliant for a place marketing itself as à relaxing high end spa hotel). The rooms are spacious but lack adequate storage (there’s a small wardrobe but not large enough to house the belongings of 3-4 people which is what the rooms are designed to accommodate). Visually, the mix of brutalist and Mediterranean styles of architecture just don’t work because the brutalist aspects end up looking unfinished or damaged. The most concerning aspect is the confusing number of random staircases that lead nowhere. Literally. À staircase might take you to a dead end or to a random bedroom’s patio. Feels like a fire hazard. In addition there are many bumps ànd unlevel surfaces on the walkways connecting all the bedrooms upstairs which are obvious trip hazards (I know because not only did trip myself the first few times I went back to my room, but I saw others trip too). Breakfast was top notch ànd the staff are lovely, ànd try to be as helpful as they can but so many of the issues are design-based. Considering all the available options on the island, the Revelian stands out as an aberration. Avoid.

We had a genuinely lovely stay at The Rivelian. The rooms are spectacular, the pool and peaceful surroundings are wonderful, and the four-minute walk to the cove is perfect. Breakfast is also absolutely out of this world. But what really stood out was the team. As a new hotel, there were understandably some teething issues, and what impressed us most was how calm, warm and solution-focused the staff remained while dealing with them. They worked incredibly hard to make sure guests still felt looked after, and in our case they absolutely succeeded. José was lovely, Simon was so friendly and welcoming, and Mario was amazing, such a gentleman. A huge thank you to Dorys, the manager, who did everything she could to resolve our issues and made sure we still left feeling positive about our stay. Diego deserves a very special mention. He went above and beyond repeatedly, was endlessly helpful, patient and kind, and honestly did so much to make our stay enjoyable. In the restaurant, Saila was amazing and Joanna, the restaurant manager, was brilliant. Warm, professional and genuinely lovely. There are things still to iron out, but the staff are a huge asset to this hotel and made all the difference to our experience. We wish the whole team every success and would genuinely love to return.
