  • Whisper-quiet and perfectly secluded, The Poet’s Hideaway is a standalone 1-bedroom cottage designed for those who find beauty in the small things. It is a place for the solo dreamer, the romantic couple, or the digital nomad seeking a different kind of "connection."

Surrounded by a half-acre of mature hardwoods, the guest house feels like a secret tucked away from the world. It is intimate but never small, a space where high ceilings and curated views make the Alabama woods feel like your personal backyard.

    A Life Lived Outdoors
Peace is the primary amenity here. The guest house features its own outdoor access, inviting you to step out and breathe in the scent of pine and lake water.

The Veranda: Whether you’re sketching in a notebook or enjoying a glass of wine at dusk, the outdoor patio space offers a front-row seat to the changing light of Walnut Creek. It is a place where time is measured not by hours, but by the movement of the sun across the trees.

    The Inner Sanctum
The Bedroom: A masterclass in cozy minimalism. The dedicated sleeping space is a soft landing at the end of a day of exploration, designed to offer the deepest of sleeps in the heart of the forest.

The Living Studio: A bright, open-concept space that serves as your lounge, library, and kitchenette. Modern finishes meet rustic charm, creating an environment that is as functional as it is aesthetic.

    Lakeside Exploration
Adventure is just up the creek. While the property’s boathouse is reserved, the vibrant life of Lake Mitchell is at your fingertips. The nearby marina is a short, scenic trip away for fuel, food, and the friendly buzz of the lake community. For those bringing their own watercraft, the public launch is moments away, ensuring that while you sleep in the forest, you can live on the water.

There were many steps to get to the property. It was poorly stocked kitchen and linens (we had 2 towels for 2 people and three night’s an and no washcloths): there were ants in the kitchen around the sink. Under counter lights kept falling. Multiple outlets plugged in that seemed like a fire hazard. Fuse blew in kitchen. Water pressure issues which turned water brown and unable to drink. No couch in deck two dead ugly ferns . No Roku stick in TV so missed college football. No tv service , you had to download own apps and log in even for standard TV. Lamps in bedroom by bed not even plugged in. The good? Window units worked well, bed was comfy.
