OLDE MILL INN OF CLARKSTON

8/10 Good

"Everything was clean, and the room was comfortable and cozy. The lake view was really nice, and we really enjoyed the shared covered patio area with outdoor seating overlooking the water. The motel is conveniently located near several great restaurants and Pine Knob Music Theatre, which was the reason for our visit. The only things that could have been better were the amenities and the bed. The room included shampoo but no conditioner. I checked with the front desk, and they confirmed they did not have any available, so be sure to bring your own. Unfortunately, it was the one time I decided I didn't need to pack any because both are usually provided when we stay in hotels. The bed was also very soft and bouncy, causing both my husband and me to roll into the centre of the mattress while sleeping. My husband spent most of the night trying to cling to the edge of the bed because he was worried he would roll on top of me, so neither of us had a very good night's sleep. However, for a one night pass through, I felt like it was good value for what we received and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Just a few minor things (newer mattresses and conditioner) and it would have been perfect."

"I requested a receipt when we checked out. I did. Not look at it until I returned home and noticed we were charged for 2 nights of parking and we were only there 1 night. I immediately called the hotel and was told the xtra charge would be removed and I would be emailed an updated receipt. I have not eceived the receipt and my charge card was charged for $50, 12.10 and another $12.10, totaling $74.20. There should only be a one time parking charge of $20 and another amenity charge of $20. This should have been taken care of immediately as it is very easy for someone to see we were only there 1 night."
