"Staff was wonderful but the lack of cleanliness really took away from our stay. I bought cleaning supplies and cleaned the room, scrubbed the surfaces that were covered in a film and dust. I bought extra sheets and covered all the linens, they smelled and were horribly stained. If they get the housekeeping under control - this would be a great place. "

"Breakfast was supposed to be from 7-10 At 8 am there was one sausage left a half cup of coffee and cold cereal We did find a very nice restaurant for breakfast just 3 minutes away "

"The whole place could use a very very deep clean. The lock to my door didn't work, so I couldn't leave anything in the room to get food places. Even after bringing it up, they didn't want to accommodate me with a room with a working lock. And by working lock, I mean you can physically enter the room without a key card. Since they're pet friendly get ready to see all the leftover pet stains, under UV the place looks like a Jackson Pollock painting. High touch surfaces not cleaned."

"There was a truck stop,and a few stores ,and restaurants around. My problem is that they didn't offer a lot of food, but they had breakfast foods you can buy from them.coffee tasted like water. "

"We had a really disappointing experience with Powhatan Motel. After driving 16 hours on a long road trip, we arrived around 3am expecting to check in, since the motel clearly advertises a 24-hour front desk and check-in availability after 4pm. Unfortunately, that was not the case. There was no one available at the front desk, no way to check in, and no communication whatsoever from the property. We were completely exhausted and left stranded in the middle of the night with a valid reservation. Because of this, we had no choice but to get back on the road and continue driving through the night, turning what should have been a 16-hour trip into nearly 24 hours. It was unsafe, stressful, and entirely avoidable. If a property is going to advertise a 24-hour front desk, they need to honor that commitment. At the very least, they should clearly communicate any restrictions on late-night arrivals, as many other hotels do. This level of unreliability is unacceptable, especially for travelers depending on a place to rest. Also, Expedia did not give us a refund saying that we were the ones who cancelled. Cherry on top!"
