Le Clos de la Bodice holiday cottage for 12-15 people, 7 bedrooms, with Jacuzzi

"A wonderful property with so many facilities to keep us, and the children, entertained. Large garden allowed for noisy games, focused pétanque and quiet reading corners. Being able to go out on the bikes and cook in an outdoor pizza oven were added bonuses I didn’t expect to find at a holiday house. Inside, the house is spacious and we loved the sociable round table. Having flexibility to make bedrooms double or two singles was really helpful too. The kitchen can become congested so good excuse to take turns to cook. With the hot weather the pool did turn green with an algae bloom so we lost 2 days of pool time. Proper pool treatment could have avoided this. The House Manager did her best to sort it quickly but it was very disappointing particularly as our friend’s young son had his heart set on a birthday pool party."

"I didn’t expect it to be this good. I’d just booked the cheapest room, expecting a small room in the attic. But it was very large, newly renovated with an updated (excellent) shower. The AC was completely silent and cooled down the room effectively despite it being 99 F outside. The restaurant is okay for dinner and great for breakfast. We also enjoyed the pool table and walking along the little river nearby. Best chateau stay we had on this trip 10/10"

"We stayed 2 nights, mom and teen daughter. Stayed in a queen cabin. First the goods - the air conditioning on our cabin was exceptional and bed super comfy. We slept well in the heat. The staff are ALL very friendly and helpful. Pool was perfect temperature for a dip in the heat. They had poolside drink service too. Honestly, I can’t say enough about the very good and friendly service. Location is fantastic, very close to Blois. You need a car Points to consider - the wifi in our cabin was practically non-existent. If you have to work here, plan to rely on cell service. As others have mentioned, the shower is poorly designed and if you aren’t very careful, water will stream everywhere. I noticed the floor is warped in several places and I expect it’s from sitting water from shower. Breakfast was not excellent. Reminded me more of a Holiday Inn Express than a beautiful French countryside hotel. Maybe my expectations were too high. We ate at the restaurant one evening. We enjoyed it, staff very accommodating."

"Colivault was exceptional, from the house and grounds to Richard and his family’s warm hospitality. This is one place we will definitely return to again and again. The rooms are luxurious, the breakfast was plentiful, served outside in the dappled sunlit garden and the pool was delightful. Pet friendly accommodation is hard to find of this high calibre. Wonderful French charm, it’s easy to see why so many guests fall in love with Colivault. 10/10 , 5 stars, we can’t wait to return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"We stay 2 nights to visit all the chateaux de la Loire around. Great location, quiet and very nice room and bedding. New auberge. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Great homemade breakfast. Just one thing, no air conditioning and it was the heatwave week in France 35/40! But we managed to stay cool. I would recommend and go back."

"An absolute gem in the Loire Valley! This place is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Châteaux de la Loire. The property itself is absolutely stunning, incredibly peaceful, and decorated with immense taste. We loved the numerous pieces of artwork beautifully displayed throughout our room, the common areas, and even outside in the gardens! The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the entire place is well-appointed and thoughtfully designed. Another huge plus is the fantastic family room, which is spacious and perfect for those traveling with loved ones. As animal lovers, we were completely charmed by the adorable donkeys, chickens, two adorable dogs and sheep. They have a massive, open pasture to roam free and you can truly tell they are happy living there. Above all, our host was absolutely charming and warm, making us feel right at home. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A perfect stay!"
