Loved every second of being at La Puerta Del Sol! Very close to town and the beach. Also the pool and bar area were amazing! Would definitely come back.

Puerta del Sol is a beautiful property, just up the street from the beach in Playa Coco. The flowers and landscaping are amazing, really surprised my wife and I how nice it was. Staff is very friendly. Rooms small and simple, but comfortable. Restaurant and bar were great. Can't beat the price either. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the economy room, which is located around the corner from the main property. The hotel is within walking distance to shops and beach. There is a free breakfast and it's not a buffet and was decent. Would stay here again.

Excellent option in Coco!

We loved our stay! Beautiful pool, great bar and restaurant and the grounds are exquisite. Cute kittens running around were a fun bonus. We walked to town and the beach every night. The only negative was the bed and pillows were not the best but we were so tired after days of exploring, it didn’t really matter that much.

The entire team was great! From front desk, ordering a taxi to & from airport, to telling me about day trips, to dancing at dinner & live band. It's an intimate hotel giving a personal feel. It's close enough to town for shopping. Beach is just down the block. It was perfect to be not to close to fun so could still enjoy the quiet.

I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely garden environment, restaurant, bar, and wonderful live music show. I enjoyed the live music while my daughter and I swam in the pool. it was an easy walk to shops and the beach but off the beaten path just enough to be quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and well set up for us and our child who had her own small bed built into the wall. the food at the soda across the street was excellent as was the food at the hotel restaurant. Highly recommend for families.

We stayed in the main hotel and were slightly nervous due to the poor reviews we had read. I do agree in part some of the room facilities are in need of an update but I think the location and communal areas do make up for it and we had a great stay

Great breakfast, great staff and pool cleaned daily. We were bitten by red ants in our room, bed and pool chairs. Room was dark and unable read. Staff did find us a lamp.

Nice Hotel but clean service should improve

It is a very organized hotel as they have several activities for guests such as dance classes and a music band playing during dinner. The room is large, they have a nice big-screen TV and the bed is super comfy. The only bad thing is that they did not clean the room in the 3 nights I stayed even though I put the sign on the door. I had to ask for clean towels, soap, and toilet paper in consequence. However, they let me do a late checkout because of this inconvenience.

The facilitiy needs some updates. They dont provide shampoo and conditioner. there is no self in the bathroom to put tooth paste and tooth brush. there are a lot of ants and small insect running . pool should be cleaner. rain shower was slow.

Staff don't answer the phone at night. We arrived from airport at 11pm. Gate was locked and no-one answered our calls... finally parked infront of gate and security/(front desk guy?) showed up and let us in. Our room was missing a glass slat in the slatted window in the bathroom. Bugs/ants/spiders were in the room. Pillows are terrible. Bed is very firm and like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. Staff friendly Parking good 3 minute walk to where all the bars/restaurants are. Would stay here again in a pinch...but would prefer to find more comfortable accommodations that don't have bugs or broken windows that allow critters inside.

The photos and reviews are so misleading. We were in a “secondary” property which is a run down motel on the next block in the middle of a fairly run down neighborhood. The room itself? It’s not dirty but dingy and sparse. The shower handles are broken, the shower doesn’t drain, the bathroom is about 6x5’ The beds were okay. There’s an old refrigerator on the floor because there is not other furniture except for two folding chairs and a tiny folding side table. There is not closet, no drawers. There’s a strange canvas cubby thing. Yes, there’s a TV but, while it boasts Netflix and prime, neither are accessible. If you need a late checkout— forget it. You may as well rent another room because they as $70 usd / hour for a dump. The bright spot is the staff is pleasant and, although the music was inexplicably loud for one table (us) the food is very good. Oh, there is air conditioning in the room - that’s the other plus.

The only good thing to say about this was that the receptioniat was friendly and nice. However, that is the only good thing I have to say. Do not let the pictures fool you. I dont ever leave reviews, however I hope this review will help somebody who is looking to stay here. I expected bugs outside, I even expected bugs in the lobbies. But not in the bed. The door had openings which allowed unwanted bugs to come in and out as they pleased and the whole time my girlfriend and I were there it just felt uncomfortable. There was no cleaning it seemed even though we requested it. We didnt get someone to come to clean until we checked out. So if you dont like uncleanliness.. stay away. Oh and in order to get a refund, I had to call Expedia on about 5-6 occassions and spoke to multiple people who told me they couldnt give me a refund unless the manager approved the refund. Each agent tried contacting the manager to no avail. You can't get ahold of this manager it seems. Eventually Expedia worked around it (finally). We had to spend extra money to go to the Hilton right across the Liberia airport, and it was money well spent. I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn.
