Let me first start by saying that this was a great location and beautiful home. The time spent here was great. The reason for the bad review was for several reasons.The house was not cleaned - soiled linens, dirty dishes, trash, etc. It was obvious people had stayed here prior to our arrival and it had not been cleaned. We contacted the owner and he was very polite and said he misunderstood when our group was arriving and apologized for not having it clean. He told us where we could find clean bed linens and assured us a cleaning crew would be arriving the following morning around 10:30 AM to clean the house. He also said that he would give us that night for free (we reserved two nights) since he didn’t hold up to his end of the agreement. We made plans to be out of the house so they could clean the next day. No one came. The house was never cleaned and every text, phone call, voicemail, and Vrbo message remained unanswered by the owner. We were afraid something may have happened, as life does, and gave him the benefit of the doubt as to why he had not responded to our efforts to reach him. When all efforts failed and two weeks passed, I contacted VRBO. They said that he never submitted any kind of refund for us and since nothing was in writing, they encouraged us to leave a negative review.It really is unfortunate because had this place been cleaned and the owner made good on his word, we would have given it a 10/10.
