Property was wonderful as were our hosts Jill & Kendall. They made themselves easily available for any questions or concerns. Ranch house was very comfortable and clean. Great place to relax, hike & fish. Cody within a 50 min drive and is worth spending a day. Yellowstone also worth a visit. Our time there was just plain awesome; one of our best vacations.
Wonderful experience.
If you want peace and quiet this is it.
You’re the last cabin up the mountain so no traffic. The only noise is the creek and the wind.
Internet is great at the cabin. There is no TV which is one of the best features.
Fishing in the Shoshoni river is an added bonus.
Thanks Austin for a great time.
This was our third time staying at the Double Bar L Ranch and like the other times, it was amazing! The beautiful is unmatched. We went fishing, hiking, and just enjoyed slowing down for a week. Such a great place for a family vacation!
Wonderful hideaway in the wilderness. This was our 2nd time there and will be returning again. Austin was very responsive and quite friendly. Location is great for those that want to get away from it all. And yet, close enough to Cody (50 min) and East Entrance to Yellowstone (1hr 45 min). Fun time & fishing was great.
Amazing property! Great place to get away from the noise of life. A bit of a drive from Cody, but totally worth it. Stunning views with peace and quiet. All the basics we needed were supplied. Austin is super friendly and helpful. Only wish we could have stayed longer!
Our family just got back from Double L Bar from a week's stay and we didn't want to leave! Other reviews said you need 4-wheel drive, we had AWD, and was fine. The lodge has beautiful, we had a fire every night and taught our daughters how to play piano. The kitchen was perfect and beds were so comfy! Loved the DoTERRA soups and diffusers! The views from the front porch you could just look at for hours, it was out of a movie. Took a hike right out of the door up to the mountain range area. It was absolute peace and quiet. The owners are so so nice, I wish we had more time to learn more about the ranch as it's expansive! We were fortunate enough to get into Yellowstone for a day. Yes, it's a long drive, but it didn't feel like it. We also rented an ATV for the day (amazing) Went White water rafting (We had a BLAST) and had to see the Rodeo!
From start to finish this place and the owners were amazing. Austin, Ken, and Jill went out of their way to provide us with an amazing stay, whether that was informing us of the best places to hike and fish, or letting us know and drive us to see a heard of 150 elk. Could not recommend this property enough and hope to come back again soon.
I don’t even know where to begin! This place was so amazing. The photos online cannot begin to do it justice. The home was perfect, the property next level. There is a creek right out the front door and a larger one down the hill. The kids got a bite within seconds of putting in their fishing poles. The hiking was incredible. Feeding the horses was a super fun treat!
We’ve done a fair amount of travel with our kids. This was our favorite experience thus far. We are already planning our trip for next summer!!
Yes, Yellowstone is a drive… who cares? This place is so much cooler than Yellowstone. Yes, Cody is a solid 40 min drive, but it’s one of the most beautiful drives ever.
Thank you so much for sharing this incredible place!!
The property was outstanding. Perfect for our family of adventurers. The owners were friendly, helpful, and kind! We loved everything about this property and the location.
If you are looking for a great place to get away from the busyness of life then this is the place for you. This property is very secluded and completely wireless. The cabin was very clean upon arrival and instantly homey. We loved the location and the hiking trails all around the property. Beautiful scenery all around that makes you feel away from it all and in the wilderness!! WE LOVED IT!! If you are looking to visit Yellowstone then this place will require at least a 1.5 hour drive, (from the cabin to Cody and from Cody to the park) is quite a drive but all worth it in my opinion. Overall it was an excellent stay! Thanks a bunch!!
This is a fabulous house, caretakers we’re very kind, however, even though the home is very large and can accommodate families with small children, all children no matter the age are counted as full guests. So we had to rent a second location 50 minutes away to accommodate all of the children and could not communicate due to the remote location. We traveled from all over and spent many hours driving rather than visiting. The children were a short notice add that I wanted to make the owners aware and it just wouldn’t work for the owners due to water and septic concerns. It was a very nice place but only for a small group.
We stayed at the LL Lodge and it was tucked away at the base of the mountains near a creek. The views were magnificent and surroundings exactly what we needed for our vacation with family. The property owners were amazing and met us to lead us back to the property after arriving. This cabin far exceeded our expectations and we wish our stay was longer. We hope to be back again soon.

Beautiful property but not great for our family
We booked this cabin for our family trip to Yellowstone. The location would be great for a getaway from society however it was much farther from the park than we realized. The distance would have been ok but the last few miles to the cabin are pretty slow going as the road is only traversable if you have an all wheel drive vehicle. The cabin was awesome and we would have loved it had we not been traveling to the park.
Amazing cabin with picturesque views and very secluded !
What a amazing property and host. Ken called me Sat morning to arrange time for arrival. He met us at the bridge at property entrance to took us to the cabin and went over everything with us. Cabin is over 100 years old and you can tell it is well maintained. No TV and internet was a blessing for us but was told you can get signal if you have AT&T as there is a tower in the area. Be sure and stock up on supplies before you leave Cody as it is a 40 min ride to town. Ken will show you where the grill is and they have all the cooking utensils you need to prepare meals.
We accessed Yellowstone by the East gate and enjoyed the drive and all the wildlife (bears ,mountain goats , elk and buffalo ). The wildlife around the cabin like to use the road over Hardpan Creek in front of cabin to cross the creek almost every morning when I was having coffee. Mule deer , elk and pronghorn were around everyday as well.
It was nice to have the property owners on hand to give you all the info you need as well as give the history of the property. Ken and Jill came and visited with my family and we could tell they enjoy being host to the guest
We plan to be back at this property again !.
Perfect! The historical rustic log home was perfect for us! The views of the snow capped mountains were breathtaking. It is very private and very quiet! Exactly what we needed to rest and recharge! I would recommend 4wheel drive vehicle during certain times of the year. Owners were very helpful and we loved hearing the history of the ranch!!! This is one place I truly hope to visit again!!! Perfect!!!
Our family had made the trip to visit northwest college and chose the Double L Bar for seclusion and to escape the technology and we got exactly that. We enjoyed every minute here plenty of hiking and exploring and relaxing on the porch was amazing. If your looking for seclusion and peace I highly suggest staying here the drive into Cody or to Yellowstone seemed a little long but who cares it was so worth the drive. Jill, Austin and Ken are amazing people you won’t meet nicer people. We will be back and can’t wait for our next trip out.
Overall a great stay. A beautiful secluded cabin. Only downfalls I would say would be the location and you will have to have an SUV/Truck to get to the cabin. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming!
We really enjoyed staying at the ranch house. Jill and her husband were very friendly and so accommodating. The house was equipped with everything. Cooking utensils, pots pans coffee pot, outside BBQ grill, bathroom had lots of towels. Beds were comfortable for us. We had no cellphone service at the house but we didn't mind at all. Just a short drive up the road and we could get service. We didn't get to use the fireplace, bit it's beautiful. We loved having coffee on the front porch and listening to the water in the stream. This is a very beautiful place to stay.

Very nice historical home in a lovey location just very secluded from everything. Jill and Ken are very nice and are willing to help with all things. I must have not done very good research to realize how far out of town it was

The stunning view
The views were gorgeous, the cabin very remote. Great to get off the grid. Definitely should have 4 wheel drive to access.
Great for reconnecting with family.
My family and I were delighted with the beauty of the valley, the hosts' hospitality, and learning some of the local history. The lodge is a pleasant mix of hunting lodge trophies, numerous antiques, and feminine touches such as table dollies and quilts on two of the beds. Everything was clean. Being at least a 45 minute drive to the nearest store, the lodge was well stocked with items easily forgotten, for example, toothpaste. We hope to return.
