Wonderful property and service. The rooms were very large with a magnificent view of the surroundings. The food and dining could be better, but overall a great experience.

Perfect place to stay. University of Coimbra is right next door. It had lots of space for our family of 3 adults. The decor is all about books. The rooftop patio on the 6th floor had a great view. We found parking easy in front of the hotel. Pay attention to the details of how to avoid narrow streets leaving. It involves ringing a button to take an interior street. It’s worth it as the streets will not fit many cars. The restaurant was wonderful. Our waiter, Joel, was fabulous and told us so many cool things about Portuguese food. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is located right next to the Coimbra University, which is the highlight of the city. It’s a 1’ walk to the famous Biblioteca Joanina, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world . We had dinner the first night, it was tasty and well served. Breakfast is also tasty and there is a lot of variety to choose from. The room was huge, and it has also a small living room, a dinner table and a very comfortable kitchen. The courtyard on ground floor is very nice ( unfortunately it was raining and cold so we could not enjoy it so much ). They have five free parking spots on the street, you just need to be lucky to get a spot ( which we did), since parking is expensive and complicated around. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Coimbra University ( which is totally worth it)

A beautiful hotel our room was fantastic with a lovely balcony overlooking the picturesque courtyard would highly recommend you book if you go to the amazing City of Coimbrã we will be back for sure they also have a roof top view of the river which is incredible

Nice for City escape
Very centric boutique hotel, ideal for a short escape in Coimbra city. Nice and friendly staff. Rooms are a little bit "cold", not so cozy. Bathroom window direct to people passing with no blackout cover. Good breakfast

We didnt like the dining options, not enough variety, average quality and to expensive for Portugal. In our three days in Coimbra, the dinner at the hotel was the most expensive one (even if we take out the bottle of wine we ordered, because it was cheaper to buy the bottle than by the glass) and by far the lowest quality. Otherwise the Hotel was nice.

Perfection. Everything about this hotel is just right. Our room was the junior suite. Lots of space, great bed and bathroom. Lots of nice extras. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Parking can be confusing for a foreigner and they were so patient and helpful. Great location steps from the University.

Sapientia Boutique was a lovely hotel in a superb location of Coimbra. It was right next to the university. Bruno was extremely welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. Great breakfast and nice bar.

We loved our stay! It was in a great location and within walking distance to many great sites. The rooms were large (we had a junior suite), comfortable and clean. The staff was excellent! We were only here for one night but I would highly recommend it!

The property is located on the top a hill with a breath taking view of the city of Coimbra. I was here for an event that the hotel catered. It was a wonder evening and breakfast was great! Lots of options! Eggs, vegetarian, jams and honey. I had a pot of tea and fruit. So there is something for everyone! My room had a shower and a queen bed with a couch and kitchenette! I was just happy to have a refrigerator. I like cold water. If you are in the area it is a fantastic location. Near some interesting attraction too.

The hotel had a great location - walking distance to everything you might want to see.. our room was very spacious and beautiful but it smelled so bad of moist I could not sleep.. also it was two stairs below the lowest floor of the elevator - no one offered any help with the luggage.. My husband schlepped both our suitcases up and down (and we are not young!).. not good..

Amazing hotel. Highly recommend. Located right next to the university, over looking the bridge/water. Staff was super friendly and the room was lovely. Drink in the rooftop is a must. This was my favourite hotel in Portugal!

Great location, ambiance and rooms. Let down by: - a paltry breakfast that was not replenished when items finished. - inconsistent front desk service. Initially very friendly, then very off handish. Small hotel that could really benefit from staff really being smiley, happy and friendly. Would recommend for location, accommodation and comfort.
