There's a pleasant reception area and a large seating area, all done out in a modern and quirky style, which I liked. The hotel has a good look, but the service doesn't live up to this. Some of the staff were polite and helpful, others over-casual and could not really be bothered. I am saying this on the basis of a stay of 5 nights. The breakfast was minimal for a buffet - only just acceptable. No real coffee - in Sri Lanka, where they grow it. The 'high speed' internet was nowhere near high speed. I could not access the internet in my room because of the poor connection (this is something I always look for and which was promised) and when I complained, the staff member just said "It's slow" and that I should access it in the seating area. There is a big difference between making personal calls or doing work in the privacy of your own room and in a shared space, but the staff couldn't see the problem. They didn't care. I needed to have some clothes washed and there is no laundry service. These issues make me think the hotel is not good for people on business, just holiday makers.
Also, some of the time, several young guys were hanging around, making quite a noise - some were off-duty staff and others seemed to be friends of theirs. It was as though the place belonged to them and not to paying guests, which made me feel slightly uncomfortable.
The room itself was fine - a bit on the small side, but clean with a good mattress.
