This is a budget hotel so expectations matter. The room was adequate and clean. The guy at the front desk was really pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was reasonable considering it was included in the price. I would stay here again.

I stayed here this past Spring. I thought I was booking same hotel with a different location. I’m not from SC. The location and price were exactly what I needed for this last minute booking. Close to restaurants and plenty of shopping plazas. However, I was seeking shelter when I realized it was the same location. Breakfast was an improvement. The waffle maker was up and running. They also offered eggs, bacon, muffins, danishes, toast, juice, milk, and coffee. Still no lids for the coffee cups. The room was worst than the last time. Water damage over the tub, cracked floor tiles, stained toilet seat, rusted door frame, stained carpet, no microwave, no refrigerator, stained bed linens. I would submit images but there is no link. I wasn’t comfortable! I was awaken by a man next door vomiting around 3 AM. I had to turn music on to fall asleep.

Need a little sign for the property. The doors to the wings slam shut loudly. Woke up a few times last night due to it. All furnishings in the room had dings and dents. Breakfast was slim. On the plus side, front desk staff was great.

You get what you pay for

You get what you pay for. If you are expecting a marriott for the price if a super 8, dont. You won't find it. The whole place smells like cigarette smoke. But for less than $70 and a decent location and breakfast in the morning I guess it was worth it. But if you don't want to smell like smoke pay a little more and stay someplace nicer.

No tv in the room ,the bathroom floor tile was cracked and shifted when you stepped on it. The caluking around the toliet was poorly done and cracking. The 3rd floor smelled like pot. Breakfast not well stocked and my request for a tv and coffee pot was never answered. The picture of the interior are deceptive. I believe the cleaning staff did the best with what they have to work with.

I traveled to Columbia to watch my son graduate from Ft. Jackson but before arriving at this hotel I booked another one which didn’t have water and had pest so I didn’t sleep. When I checked into the Baymont the staff and property were very accommodating.

This hotel is a lot nicer than its price point (at least when I booked it on hotels.com) would suggest. If you are sorting Columbia hotels by price and this one pops up in the first handful, book it. Clean, quiet, everything in the room worked correctly, pool actually looked usable but it rained on the day I was going to use it.

Awesome stay

We reserved and paid when we got there they had the flexibility of canceling and changing dates up until the day before check out. And everyone was friendly and helpful over all very good stay.

Update please

The staff was nice and courteous. The room was run down. Furniture was in poor condition, they could find nicer stuff at a garage sale or flea market. Need serious upgrade and refresh. I wasted my credits with hotels.com upgrading to a suite.

The mattress was extremely comfortable, and the linens/towels were clean and luxurious. The front desk staff was willing to help with any problems and questions. However, the drapes were tattered, there was pink stuff on the mirror, the tub was slippery, there was caked dirt in the corners of the bathroom floor, a toothpaste cap was stuck down the unstoppered sink drain, and the directions for the wifi didn't work.
