  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. This place was exactly what we needed. A very welcoming host and everything you could possibly ask for! Super clean and the beds were so comfortable!! We will definitely stay here again if in town.

The house was just right for 3 guys playing golf. The host had all kinds of snacks and drinks provided for us. We have never had this happen on any other stay in the last 18 years of traveling for our golf trips. The house was exactly as presented. No complaints at all. We will definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable and well stocked. Only downside is the smell- you can tell it is pet friendly - not a urine smell- just a smell of animals in general. Very clean otherwise and the communication was excellent: the host even provided treats for my children on Halloween. So thoughtful!

The house and amenities were accurately represented in the pictures and description. It's in a convenient location, less than two miles from downtown Dublin. The host was very prompt in responding/communicating. One small thing to note is that if you're bringing wine to enjoy, unless it's a screwtop, you'll need to bring your own corkscrew.
