Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Check-in problematic as host did not send details until contacted by Vrbo the day before we traveled. This made a stressful start to our holiday. On arrival we had to meet housekeeper at a different address and follow her in car. The house was completely shut up and had a musty odour throughout the property. In addition, there was a drain odour in upper floor bedroom and damp odour in bunk room which was also dirty and uninhabitable. There was a lack of ventilation and freshness.Most disappointing was the lack of welcome pack. After a day of travelling through 3 countries on a Sunday, there was no tea or coffee. We had to wait until Monday morning for drinks and food in Bourgueil!The house is spacious with well-equipped kitchen BUT no modern coffee maker or glass tumblers ( we had to buy our own in hypermarket) The lighting in lounge was not fully working. The lounge was comfortable and well-appointed with quality furniture.The “hot tub” was not functioning for our first week until we reported the cool unusable water temperature. There was a plentiful supply of towels.The outside living area was pleasant with comfy chairs and cantilever parasol. The loungers were somewhat worn, contrasting with the better condition of those at the sister property where the pool was situated. There are just 2 wardrobes in the whole property even though there are 4 bedrooms.
