Dark Skies is perfect for a couple or family and offers the comfort of reverse cycle air conditioning in the front and back of the home along with pillow topped mattresses and quality 100% cotton linens. The cottage also provides warmth from a gorgeous old fire place.

Perfect bolthole for exploring the area, in comfort and style

This small cottage has everything you need for a comfortable few days in Coonabaraban. It is on a quiet street but just a short walk to the main street, and a good central location to all the attractions of the area.The house itself is well-equipped, welcoming, and cosy. I particularly appreciated the basic supplies that were provided, and being able to do laundry while away. My only regret was not having an extra night or two :)If we ever return to the area, we would very happily stay again in Dark Skies Cottage

Wonderful stay

Just had a wonderful stay at Dark Skies Cottage. Very well decorated and felt like home. We were all comfortable. Well appointed kitchen with everything we needed for our stay. We will be back again next year!

Had a wonderful time celebrating our son's 21st on a bush walking holiday. Great base to visit the Warrumbungles. Lovely neat and comfortable home. Close to shops and restaurants. Great experience.

Fantastic accommodation in the heart of town

My family and I had a great stay at dark skies. The house is in a great location, easily accessible and has great amenities. The house was exceptionally clean and outfitted with everything you need for your stay, including great resources on things to do in the area. The yard is large and secure so no issues leaving your dog there. Highly recommend this listing to anyone looking for accommodation in Coona.

Our family of 5, including 3 teenagers, loved our short stay at Dark Skies Cottage. The house was beautifully decorated, well equipped and within easy walking distance to cafes, shops and the pub.

Clean, cosy and central

The cottage is pretty, cosy and very clean. It is in a great location with the main street just around the corner. We appreciated the little extras - eggs, milk and condiments. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us!

Perfect place to unwind between adventures in Coonabarabran

Loved the cleanliness and consideration of the small touches, tea/coffee. The electric blankets and heating were a very welcome on our frosty stay. Having off street parking and a secure backyard for the kids to run and play soccer was also brilliant. Would definitely return to this cute little house.

We (4 ) had a very enjoyable stay. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed, and in an excellent location. Our only criticisms relate to the bathroom. We knew that one bathroom for 4 people could be a bit of a bottleneck; of course a second toilet (in the laundry, perhaps?) would be advantageous. But beyond that, stepping in and out of the bath is problematic: the edge of the bath is quite high, and there is no grab handle on the wall, nor a non-slip mat in the bath. In addition (less serious) the bar radiator in the bathroom did not work.

Had a wonderful two night stay at this cottage, which had everything you need to feel at home. Very well set up kitchen south had stove and dishwasher, full sized fridge, heating/cooling, electric blankets, bathrobes, and a washer and dryer. Couldn't have asked for more. Excellent quality, value and location. We would love to come back.

A perfect family getaway

We stayed at Dark Skies with our children and loved the property and location. An easy walk to town and half hour drive to a number of beautiful bushwalks in the Warrumbungles. The house itself is very comfortable, beautifully decorated (love the plants), and warm for the colder Coonabarrabran winters. It was perfect for our family with kids (high chair, toys, books, plastic plates/cups etc plus a large fenced yard). Vanessa is a great host, communicative and friendly. We would definitely stay again 😃

Charming Cottage

This is the second time we have stayed at Dark Skies Cottage. It is a short walk to the shops. The cottage is comfortable and cosy with everything you need. I would recommend staying here and would stay at Dark Skies again. If you have mobility issues it may be difficult to get in and out of the shower as it’s over a deep bath.
