About this property

Kotare (Kingfisher) - Quintessential Kiwi Beach Bach at Coopers Beach.

  • Escape to Kotare, a secluded and enchanting Kiwi bach at the quiet end of beautiful Coopers Beach in New Zealand’s Far North. Framed by mature pōhutukawa and close to coastal walking tracks, this is a relaxed beach retreat where you can slow down, enjoy the outdoors and experience a classic Kiwi holiday.
    The space
Kotare offers split-level accommodation with plenty of room to unwind. The upstairs level is the heart of the bach, with the main living and dining area, kitchen, a bedroom, bathroom and toilet, plus laundry facilities. Downstairs are additional bedrooms along with bathroom and toilet facilities.
The two levels are connected by external stairs, giving the downstairs rooms a little extra independence while keeping everyone close together.
The bach is set up for easy holiday living, with:
    • Fibre internet/Wi-Fi
    • Gas cooking hob
    • BBQ
    • Linen and beach towels available
    • Spare blankets
    • Washing machine
    • Woodburner for cosy winter stays
    • Town water supply
    • Outdoor fish-cleaning/filleting area
    Location
Enjoy the peaceful end of an iconic Far North beach while remaining conveniently close to local amenities, including cafés, restaurants and services. Ancient pōhutukawa add to the coastal character, and nearby walking tracks lead towards historic Māori pā sites and provide another wonderful way to explore the area.
Whether your perfect day is a quiet stroll along the beach, swimming and relaxing by the coast, exploring the Far North or simply settling in at the bach with family and friends, Kotare makes an inviting base.
    Good to know
Kotare is an authentic Kiwi bach rather than a resort-style property, and its relaxed, split-level layout is part of its charm. Because the levels are connected by external stairs, guests should consider whether this arrangement suits their group.
Detailed check-in, property access and operating information will be provided privately to confirmed guests before arrival

Location, location, location. The native bush on one side, beach on another and no neighbours for our stay. Like being on our own island. The weather was also perfect. Host was very responsive.
Headland view - a short walk through bushland from the door, Lovely sheltered beach.

Host was welcoming, such a charming beach house. Its a rare treat to see the sun set from the east cost, but it is right in front of you. The little beach is paradise and the bushwalk is a nice way to start the day. Would definitely stay again. Its the kind of place you dont want to leave.
