Beautiful New Build 1-bedroom home with Central Air ,on charming Copake Lake

"The host was adequate to communicate with but we didn't receive full instructions for check-in until an hour before arriving. We had difficulty locating the lockbox code in the prior emails.This was a brand new property and we were the first ones to use the cabin. It smelled strongly of polyurethane due to lack of air movement. We opened doors and windows to air it out, even though the bathroom fan was left on. The "sleeping loft" is the right size for a child or small adult but is only accessible by vertical ladder that did not secure to the opening for the loft. There was no window or vent opening in the loft, so we had our young grand daughter sleep next to us on a makeshift floor bed. The host had provided a hand air pump and air mattress, but they didn't work and we couldn't reach her. We found her cell number much latter in an information book on the counter.The kitchen was new and clean, and items were very thoughtfully provided! The bathroom was nice and well lit, but the shower floor was very slippery and there were no grips to hang onto. I found this challenging as I have knee and hip issues that require me to be more cautious. The entrance steps to the cabin had no railings to hang onto either.I realize this is a first time host, and the property is new. The cabin is clean and very nice but small. I would consider it a "tiny house cabin". It would be nice for a younger couple, but I wouldn't recommend it for those with small children."

"My husband and I rented the cabin for a week and it was a perfect home-base for our family reunion in Craryville. We also had a guest and her young daughter for a few days and it was very comfortable for the four of us - we much appreciated the building blocks and games! We cooked, had guests for dinner and very much appreciated the filtered water in the fridge door and the sink, strong air conditioning, and quiet evenings. With a little one, it was also great having the new washer & dryer. I loved sitting on the front porch watching it rain one afternoon - so peaceful! Located off of route 22 and walking distance to the Rail Trail, bike rentals and soft-serve ice cream across the road from a swimming hole - it was very convenient. A few nearby shout-outs that made our visit even better - picture from a boat ride on Copake Lake which is only 6-miles away, another picture of the inventory at the Copake General Store (3-miles down route 22) they have amazing produce, fresh bakery items each morning and a great selection of freezer and shelf staples (opens at 9AM, closed on Mondays). Finally, we enjoyed the restored Parker House (circa 1893) in Craryville for dinner with family twice - they were able to accommodate 8 and 10 people respectively. Great service, burgers, wings, scallops, Brussels and salads!"

"We had a lovely 4 day visit and found the property had more to offer than we expected - the trails and meadows were beautiful. It was a heat wave over the 4th and a ceiling fan on the screened porch would have been nice. We plan to return in the autumn and use the fire pit seating area."

"Everything was perfect! What a great getaway for my little family. The house is very spacious, and there was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. We very much loved using the fire pit and taking the paddle boats out to the pond. Thank you for such a lovely stay!"

Lakefront Retreat on Robinson Pond - Stunning Sunrise

"We had such a great stay here. The place is super peaceful, and the lake views are honestly incredible. Sunrises looked like paintings every morning. We loved taking the canoe and kayak out on the water, especially at sunset. Since there are no motorboats, it’s just quiet and calm, which made it even better. Only noise was from ducks, geese and frogs. The resident bald eagle also gave us a daily challenge to find his fishing spot for the day. Taconic State Park is about 10 minutes away, which was perfect for hiking. We did a mix of trails, some more challenging ones with stream crossings and awesome views, and some easier walks that lead to really beautiful waterfalls.The house itself is simple and very functional. Really well laid out and has everything you need. Clean, no clutter and open. It made it easy to just relax and enjoy being outside together as a family. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway."
