The 2 kilometer long beach on the east side of the island, Amager Strandpark, is one of the most popular meeting places for people in Copenhagen when the sun is shining. You can sunbathe here, bathe and grill on warm summer days in the city. Amager is also known for the newly constructed neighborhood Ørestaden, with world-class architecture, international conference facilities and the large shopping mall Field's.
