"A really magnificent departure from the mid-range, vanilla hotels that we business travelers frequent. You'll experience coolness overload when you stay here. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed and the communal areas are stunning in a way that fans of Gustav Stickley, Teco, Weller, etc won't easily forget. The breakfast was superb too. The only drawback-It was really hot, and the A/C in this old girl couldn't keep up. Luckily there was a large fan in the room. Walking distance to some decent downtown Wausau Restaurants, btw."

"We had a wonderful visit at the River Chalet. It was perfect for our family of seven with a beautiful setting and plenty to keep us entertained. Our communication with the host was very good and he was always responsive and helpful. While I am not sure we will ever return to the area, if we do we certainly will consider another stay at the River Chalet."
