Beds were comfortable, house was clean and nicely stocked. Location was great to get to surrounding parks. Very close to Stout Grove. Manager was very receptive and easy to communicate with.
Huge variety of different sleeping spaces. Comfortable and homey. Peaceful surroundings. Easy parking. Easy access considering remote location. You definitely feel like you’re smack in the middle of the redwoods. You’re not crammed in among a bunch of other rentals.
Clean, cozy and lovely home on the Smith River - the back porch is perfect for drinking a cup of tea while chatting. The location, view and peacefulness were unbeatable. Would definitely stay here again!
This beautiful home was perfect space for our family of 7 adults. It came with everything we could have needed. It was also perfectly located for us to take advantage of many activities during our visit.
We loved our stay at this great cabin! It was a perfect location for us. Very clean, plenty of room for our family, beautiful views by the river. We loved it!
The home was beautiful and location was wonderful. We enjoyed our visit and had so much fun site seeing, hiking, and just spending time relaxing at house.
This was an awesome place to stay. The property was just what we were looking for. We also found out this property was just right down the road from the grove of the titians redwoods. Great hiking and stunning scenery. I would recommend this for those outdoors people.
We enjoyed the secluded area and were also happy that it was close to our activity areas. We would have liked to stay at this house for more nights. This was definitely the nicest place that we stayed at during our trip.
Great cabin. Comfortable, lots of room, peaceful and quiet. The views out over the river canyon were lovely, we sat out on the deck in the mornings and watched the eagles soar past. Amazing redwood walks only a few minutes away. Absolutely want to come here again.
We enjoyed our one night stay. We wished we had several more nights to spend there. The setting was beautiful. The amenities on the house were fantastic! Whoever designed this place spent time focusing on above par.
We loved this home. It was the perfect place to stay-both bc of the location and the home itself. It was just down the street from Stout Grove and other incredible locations in Jedediah Smith Redwoods and only a 15 min drive from Crescent city. The home itself is beautiful, well-stocked, and very comfortable. We loved our stay and would suggest it to anyone who is looking!
We had a fantastic time! The location of this property could not be better. So peaceful and beautiful. Right up the road are the redwoods. We also spent a lot of time swimming, cliff jumping, and rope swinging in the river. We spent all day out playing, and then the house was so great to come back to. It was bright and spacious, every single bed was comfortable, even the towels were soft.We made a lot of wonderful memories here. Thank you
Our stay was great! There was a mix up with the cleaning of the property, but the property manager was on it and had someone come change the sheets and get us more towels the evening we arrived. The property description was accurate and it was gorgeous. The huge windows had a breathtaking view and the property was crazy close to the Redwoods. It only took us 10 minutes to get to some of the most amazing hikes I've ever experienced. It was wonderful, easy, and I would book there again if we ever return.
We had a fantastic trip to the Jedidiah Smith redwoods near Crescent City California. This home was comfortable, well appointed and exactly as advertised. Communications with the host were great. We did find that the Wi-Fi was not working, but we honestly didn’t even mention it during our stay because we were happy to disconnect. I feel certain that if I had mentioned it, they would have corrected the problem. It was a very easy drive or a comfortable walk from our cabin to numerous hiking trails. We wish we had had longer to visit. We would happily return to this property.
Property was beautiful, as expected. Plenty of room for the nine of us. Only drawback was not having hot water “on demand”. With so many people it was difficult to maintain hot water for showers. Just a suggestion as our stay was wonderful and memorable. I rate this property first rate and would recommend for anyone who enjoys the privacy and the majesty of the forest and river!
So glad we found this spot. It was perfect for our elopement in Stout Grove, as it was just a 5 minute drive down the road. The house had everything we needed to cook dinner, play some games together and just relax. The house was clean and welcoming when we arrived. Although we had no issues and didn’t need to contact the host. I believe there would be no issues if we had to. Check in/out was effortless and I would definitely rent again if we’re ever in the area again.
The property welcomed our pet and when our plans changed & we could not bring her, the Manager promptly refunded the pet fee. The kitchen was adequate, appliances above average, there were plenty of towels and hot water, and the home was clean. It was a 3 minute drive to the Redwoods visitor center and five more to the Redwoods Grove. Golden Grove is an excellent home to stay in to explore the redwoods.Disappointments were the porch light was burned out making it difficult to see the access codes in the dark forest night & through trial & error we figured out the lock had to be moved too, this was not in the instructions. Area rugs are curling becoming tripping hazards, our queen bed sunk in the middle making it awkward, the living room chais lounge was worn and hard to get off of the depression, and to use the TVs we had to use our personal access codes, so we had no movie or shows together. We rate Golden Grove a solid four stars. In order to get a 5 all beds, furniture, rugs and carpet need to be in safe & comfortable condition and we would like TV.
Seriously, the location and view are amazing. And generally everything was pretty comfortable, although one of the downstairs mattresses slumped toward the center. The biggest inconvenience is that if you have a big group with people staying in the bonus room, it can only be accessed through the master bedroom and bathroom. So, we had 6 people using the upstairs bathroom, and my nephews coming through the bedroom at odd hours :-D That said, we'd stay here again if we didn't have people sleeping in the bonus room.
The photos of our chosen cabin were a sight to behold, just in the pictures alone, but the surprise awaiting my family, on entering this mountain paradise, exceeded any expectation one could conjure!
We braved the elements visiting the Redwood Forrest, the Crescent City Docks, closing our day with a wonderful plate of fresh Fish and Chips from quaint little SeaQuest Brewery.
Returning to the cabin, we all sat peering out the grand glass wall, beholding cascading rain fed falls across the rapidly flowing Smith River, warming to a popping wood fire in the wood stove so strategically placed, we all remained comfortably warm!
New York Strips and Fresh Crab, from the Deck grill graced our plates, as dusk turned to darkness and light from the wood stove softly lit our table!
Such a wonderful stay, such a wonderful get away!
