We had 5 people in the property and really got to relax and enjoy. All amenities are as described and the host is extremely responsive. This was a great escape for us to enjoy the stars, go to Great Sand Dunes, and generally unwind.
Wonderful property and amazing views. Would definitely return again.

Lovely stay at a very unique property. We visited the sand dunes and the alligator farm and loved having a quiet get away at the end of the day. The geodome, hot tub and stargazing were amazing! The hosts were very helpful and responsive.
We were looking for a place to stay that was close to Great Sand Dunes National Park and could comfortably accommodate our family of 4. This place as spectacular! From the house amenities to the views we enjoyed our stay. The host provided great communication and they had a lot of information about their property. I highly recommend this place!
This was the perfect get away for my wife and I! We spent our anniversary there, and it couldn't have been better. The Geodome is awesome, house is beautiful, the views are amazing, and the hot tub was very therapeutic and relaxing. Thank you to our hosts!
I enjoyed the space with my wife on our honeymoon. It was clean and things were clearly communicated and they even have a binder to help us make sure we're square. They responded to our questions in a timely manner and was not unreasonable. The hot tub was a welcome change for the desert and the dome was quite the experience. Our dogs were there and appreciated the cozy place too. Great Sand Dunes is an hour away, but definitely worth the drive.
Our family of four had a blast staying in Crestone, and this place made it all possible. Both the cabin and Geodome were perfect, and we enjoyed incredible views of the Crestones and Sangre range. Close to the Great Sand Dunes, we jumped in the car with our sandboards rented directly from our place and had an excellent day playing in the sand. Such a fun time!
Loved our stay! Wish we had another day to truly enjoy all components of the property. Only thing that seemed silly was charging a rental fee for the sand dune boards. If you go to the beach, the beach equipment just is a perk of the property.
Would still rent here again!
The house was spotless and well-equipped. We cooked several meals and enjoyed the amount of space to spread out and relax. We spent the nights in the dome relaxing and enjoying the hot tub and views. Close enough to town without ever feeling crowded.
The location is a moderate drive past Crestone which allows for a truly relaxing experience. Watching the stars from the hot tub is a treat. The house itself is lovely with fluffy comforters, streaming tv and a fully stocked kitchen. The host was so hands on and communicative. Felt like we were staying at a friends house. 110% would stay there again.
What an awesome property for a family to stay! The geodome was so cool and gave a separate space so the entire family can spread out a bit. Time around the fire pit was awesome. We didn’t get to stargaze as it was cloudy while there. The beds were so comfortable. The kitchen very well stocked with utensils and basic supplies.
The home is a bit remote, but that was the point of the trip.

Having an electric car I was well pleased to see a charging station for it! Place was great. Well kept up, good vibes, stunning location and great communication with the owners. Will definitely return! Was there with my well traveled friends from London, who also were taken aback by it. Book now, you won’t regret it!
Beautiful property! Out of the way, to get the peace and quiet we were looking for. Far enough away from the cities so we could take in the night sky. The Geo dome was awesome! We took turns swapping out each night.
It was very nice. Essentially what we expected. Loved turning off all the lights and viewing the millions of stars from the star gazing platform and fire pit seating area. Worked perfectly for our extended family sand dunes trip. The host was very easy to contact and worked with us. Would highly recommend.

Great weekend though not entirely as expected
We booked this home as it is posted as being in very close proximity to the Great Sand Dunes. While the VRBO posting indicates the home is 4 minutes from the park, it is actually over an hour drive. We did have a fantastic time. The property was beautiful and clean with the exception of fruit and house flies in the main living area. I would recommend it as a great get away relatively close to the national park but be sure to plan accordingly.
We spent a week at the Cabin/Geodome and had a great experience. Privacy and quiet are at the top of our list when we look for places to stay and the 'cabin' fit the bill. The main living room has wonderful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and we really enjoyed using the gas fireplace on chilly mornings. We spent our days hiking and took advantage of the hot tub every night where we had an amazing view of the stars. We slept well on the memory foam bed and were very grateful for the super-quiet surroundings. The hosts were very attentive and we knew we could call on them if any issues came up- which happily, none did. Overall we had a great stay.
We really enjoyed our stay! Great views all around, nice interior and well equipped kitchen. As for the sleeping arrangements, guests should know that the geodome is fun and quaint, but does not have a bathroom. The two "bedrooms" in the geodome are separated by a partial wall, with 2 twins on one side and 1 queen on the other. Not a ton of privacy between those two sleeping areas. The other two bedrooms are in the house. Beds were definitely firm. Loved having a hot tub on site! I would say it fits 4-6 adults comfortably.
The price is very reasonable for a location that can fit up to 8 people. The geodome is very special, although it is cold in Dec. The two-floor house itself is great. Especially there are big windows and a deck on the second floor, which is great for people to enjoy their coffee and watch the beautiful sunset and mountains. The property itself is very clean. Supplies are all there. It is also convenient for us to drive just less than 15 min to reach a grocery store to purchase food and snacks. It is very quiet and safe. It's an excellent location for an escape from cities and work. The property is a 1-hour from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Zapata Falls. The only thing is to watch out for the unleashed dogs (possibly from neighbors).
This place is amazing! Geodome is so cool and the little house is just perfect. My boyfriend and I needed a quiet place to relax and get away for our anniversary and this place was just right. Our favorite part was the hot tub of coarse. The wind was fierce that weekend, but you’re tucked in the piñon trees enough with the geodome at your back that it didn’t bother you. We cooked up some crab legs and buffalo steaks in the decently equipped kitchen and watched a movie on the smart TV. Definitely will go back again with friends and try out the sand boards in the summer. The 2 beds in the house were pretty firm, so will sleep on the softer bed in the geodome next time.
Truly beautiful both inside and out. Very comfortable beds and great views from inside and the deck. All in all a very pleasant stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return.
The only downside is the lack of effective air conditioning on hot days, which apparently are now more frequent during the Crestone summers. There is currently no AC other than a swamp cooler in the main building, and it was a bit uncomfortable there during our stay. We knew about this beforehand and decided to roll the dice with the weather, so I can't blame the property or the hosts for this.
The geodome is interesting and very well appointed, but during the time we were there it was uninhabitable due to the heat in spite of a portable AC unit. I think the heat caused some of the vinyl the materials to outgas, and the combination of heat plus chemical smell kept us from enjoying what was otherwise a really lovely feature for more than a few minutes.
The deck and hot tub outside the geodome is really nicely done, again with spectacular views.

Over Priced - UnComfortable - Geo Dome Old Junky
Geo Dome is junky, old, hot and beds are very hard. Main house as stated has no air -so you can expect loud swap coolers. But if you rent in the summer you might find your your stay very uncomfortable with all the nats that infiltrate the entire unit due to having to leave the windows open. The laundry from the previous occupants was left in the dryer, wrinkled and not put away for our stay. The swap coolers had to be filled with lots of water and left on for over an hour to be able to stay in the unit comfortably. This VRBO is high priced for the location and GEO Dome. The main house is fine. Description regarding Sand Dunes makes it sound like it's a hop skip and a jump away...they are actually over an hour drive away. Dan was very accomodating until we pushed back on how clean and hot the unit was upon our arrival.
