"Terrible choice! No one was in the office when we arrived late afternoon…so we waited about 20 min. Desk staff walked in with a Sonic bag so I guess they made a lunch run… The area is somewhat depressed so I didn’t have high hopes to begin with…so I can’t say I disappointed. It was a mistake all the way around… Poor destination choice - poor accommodation choice. No wins on that trip"

"Memorial Day Weekend – Crystal River 2026The house at Crystal river was clean, well equipped for those who cook (new kitchen, outdoor grill) with a good assortment of equipment although it was difficult to find a sharp knife or a sharpener.Activities: Kayaks, pool table, bicycles, screened swimming pool, games.An ice machine, excellent laundry machines. The house was very live able and gathering space provided for socializing.Thank you for allowing us to gather in crystal river. We are long time users of VRBO and this property allowed us to have a enjoyable week in a nicely furnished home with very interesting items..The K’s"

"Room was clean. Coffee machine was out of order. But, I assumed they made coffee for the morning guests. The entranceway door to the room, was a little loose, which required a little pulling tight so the electronic door lock would open. Parking lot, room, pool area all equipment functioned properly and clean. Well kept property with friendly staff. I’ll stay here again. "

"We have stayed at this property a few years ago so we knew that this was an older hotel but it has definitely went down hill. They are building a brand new hotel right next door so I think they are doing the bare minimum maintenance and upkeep to the original hotel. Housekeeping consisted of taking your used towels and giving you new towels and that was it. Trash was never taken out. I will say the king size bed was very comfortable. There are no coffee pots in the rooms so if you are an early riser just know that coffee in the office does not open till 7am. I will give the Waterfront Social restaurant a 10/10. Great food and service. The workers in the marina shop were also very nice and helpful. Overall we love this area but will probably not book this hotel again until they get the new one built. Not worth the price tag at this point."
