Sadly, we need to leave a bad review. The house has a lot of potential but really needs some renovation and some cozy touches would definitely help. It’s big, drafty and cold, with little furnishings to make it feel welcoming and homey. Although there are 2 nice fireplaces, it was a struggle to keep the house warm when evening came. And to keep the fireplaces going takes a lot of work. Other than that source of heat, there was only a teeny tiny heater to use for heat. And due to the size of the house, it got really cold and impossible to warm up without sufficient heating. Although it looked like someone attempted to clean this rental, it was a very poor job. There was dust everywhere and cobwebs in many corners and windowsills. There was no hot water. There was mold on the wall of the master bedroom. The host was always nice and attempted to take care of the hot water issue, but nothing was really resolved in the end. Neither were the other issues addressed. This rental could be great, but is not token care of well enough to be a rental yet.
