We enjoyed staying in the historic district of Cumberland Gap and walking to local hiking spots. The house is clean and well maintained, with plenty of kitchen supplies.
The house is charming, a 1920s Craftsman style, with antique pieces mingled in with more comfortable modern furniture.
We loved this property because we appreciate old towns. We liked the slow pace but with great options for nearby great food. House is as described however IGA is in Harrogate about 5 min away by car and the Dollar store is 6 to 7 min away. The hosts respond within min to text or questions which was wonderful. We will visit this property again.
The property was much more spacious than expected. A short five minute walk to anything we wanted to do in Cumberland gap and a short five minute drive to the graduation ceremony at LMU. We could not have asked for a better location or more peaceful setting.
We enjoyed the small town of Cumberland Gap. The house was nice. Full size mattress is uncomfortable but I have arthritis, so that added to my discomfort. The kitchen is huge!! Lots of room for our supplies we had w us. A kitchen footstool would be great as plates are really high for a short little me to reach. I would stay here again.
We hiked up to Tri-State Peak and had a fun time just being together with family. Lots of time for board games and sitting around the fire pit enjoying s’mores. Only issue was with overflowing and overturned garbage can. Host responded quickly and trash was picked up off ground but can remained full from previous guests so we had to keep our trash inside.
Our stay at the Cozy Cumberland Cottage was a fantastic retreat! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Cumberland Gap, making it easy to explore the scenic trails, historic sites, and local dining spots. The cottage itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with charming décor that gives it a rustic, homey feel. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to relax after a day of adventure. That said, there were a few small things worth noting. We did come across some ants, and there were a few cobwebs in certain rooms, which made it seem like those areas hadn’t been cleaned as thoroughly in a while. Neither issue was a major problem, but a little extra attention to deep cleaning would make this place truly top-tier.Overall, the cottage is a wonderful getaway for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty and history of Cumberland Gap. It’s cozy, convenient, and full of character—just the kind of place we love to stay! We’d absolutely consider coming back.
Pros: I love the location. Had it not been raining, I could have walked from the house to anywhere downtown. It's very close to the arts center. The kitchen is well equipped for making and serving meals. The house is decorated tastefully. Cons: I could not text or call from the property even with wifi. I had to drive a short distance down the road to get a signal. The washing machine has long cycles even for a quick wash. The owner wants you to wash and dry all towels before departing. I recommend bringing your own towels to use for departure day because you likely won't have time to finish a load before checkout that morning.
Overall, the stay was great!
This was our second stay in this lovely home. We love Cumberland Gap. The house was clean and had everything you would need. Be sure to check out the coffee house while you are here. My only complaint - I miss the front screen door
Everything in the house was bigger/better than posted and the town was adorable. Cute coffee shops and restaurants ad the location to hiking was better than expected. I would definitely stay here again.
This is a great property. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. Beds were comfortable. Great place to get away and relax. We would definitely stay here again.
