  • Tuskegee University, one of the largest historically black universities in the United States, is a private university located in Tuskegee, Alabama. It was founded by Lewis Adams, a former slave, and George W. Campbell, a former slave owner. Adams asked that an educational institution for blacks be established. After Foster won the election, $2,000 (per year) was allocated from the state general budget for such a school to be located in Macon County. What a dream spot!

This property was so clean and perfect for our group! The location was so easy to get to and a great spot on the lake! There was so much space for all of us two. Definitely recommend this location and host!

We slept 13 comfortably. Very nice home and great location. Boat doc is not good for swimming and a bit tight but we made the best of it with a boat which is easy to tie up. Would stay here again!

Great layout for multigenerational stay

Great communication. Very nice house! Great layout for a large family. We were staying the weekend to celebrate our son's wedding and we had our grandparents and our children along with us. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep and pretty kitchen, dining room and living area! Porches are so great! Plenty of room to spread out outdoor outdoors as well.

We rented this property for a four day weekend while celebrating our son's graduation from Auburn University! It was very clean, had a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds in every room. Peaceful getaway while visiting Auburn University!

We rented this house for a 4 day weekend while celebrating our son's graduation from Auburn University! It was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the beds very comfortable. Overall, it was a fantastic and roomy place to host a family of 10. Thank you for your hospitality!

Lovely home

Well-appointed home on beautiful lake martin. Had trouble with Wi-Fi but host was quick to resolve the issue. Home is in the very back of the slough and it is quite shallow, so we did not attempt docking our boat. Our lake house is currently being renovated so we just kept the boat at our house and drove over.

Lake Martin rental

The cottage was nice but the porch area which was important to my choosing the place was really dirty. It desperately needed pressure washing. Tons of dirt, cobwebs, etc. The cushions on the porch furniture was also filthy. We had to use towels to sit on.

Our stay

I recently stayed at the Lake House and had a mixed experience. The house itself was great, with comfortable accommodations and all the necessary amenities. However, I was disappointed with the lot not having much of a lake view due to being in a tight corner and the dock. The water around the dock was quite shallow, making it challenging and difficult to navigate around the dock area. Overall, while the house was enjoyable, the limitations of the lot and dock detracted from the overall experience.

This one thing!

The home is a beautiful place exactly like the pictures! But this one thing…… Arachnophobia! The porch was infested with spiders and webs so much so it was inaccessible! House keeping arrived late Saturday afternoon to clean the porch unfortunately we were checking out early Sunday morning. Also there were an insignificant amount of roaches left (I was told they sprayed first part of April). Overall my stay was enjoyable accept for that one thing! I would come back provided these things were handle prior to my arrival.

Great trip, Great Place

Visited Lake Martin for the first time with 4 adults and 4 teens. Had a blast. Great location. Well thought out floorplan. Very clean house. All neighbors were nice as well. Couple boards broken on dock, but I know they will fix. Very pleased with house, location, and communication. Thank you!
