Important Notes:

ACCESSIBILITY: Please be aware that climbing stairs is required to enter the cabin. The mobility-impaired will need assistance as the gently sloped 4 inch landscaped steps DO NOT have a hand rail. The MAIN LEVEL is up a 2nd flight of stairs.

DRIVEWAY: Road Access to privacy is never right off a highway exit! The last half mile to the cabin is a winding gravel country lane through the woods. You'll have to drive slowly & look out for deer/turtles/etc crossing at any time. Suitable for all vehicles except low riders.

Wonderful stay

The cabin was very clean and full of personal touches. We had a great time tubing on the river and making s’mores in the outdoor fireplace. It was lovely and relaxing, and we would definitely come here again.

Perfect secluded getaway

Family getaway

Absolutely perfect

Close to all the places I wanted to take my out of town guest to visit. Hot tub was so nice after a day of wine tasting, hiking, and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay. Only wish it was longer.

Beautiful Cabin in the Woods!

This property was great for our extended family of 10. The views are amazing, and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed. The road to the cabin is quite the adventure but well worth it for the amazing river views you get! Very close to town and multiple wineries. We loved our stay in this Cabin. Wonderful, secluded paradise

Friend Getaway

This was absolutely one of the best getaways. Mr Dave happen to be at the house when we arrived. He was extremely helpful and his detailed books of near by attractions and restaurants was the best. Peaceful Family Getaway

The home was beautiful and in a peaceful location. We had a great time and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and time together. We had the unexpected power outage(12 hrs+). I would suggest having a separate note about what to do if power is out (regarding water/toilet use). I would also suggest more description regarding the gravel road including the steep incline, so that drivers are prepared.

Beautiful property

This property is beautiful. Everything as described in the listing is accurate. The creek is beautiful and once you arrive, it is so relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked. We did ALL of our cooking outside on the grill using the large cast iron skillet. I would recommend this to couples looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway or to a family looking to unplug and spend quality time. Dave was very communicative and always available if needed. All around a fantastic property!

A perfect wedding getaway!!

This was an absolutely incredible cabin! We spent 6 days for our wedding getaway. The location is a nice distance from venues and Helen. The road to get there is a little rocky but worth the trek and is only a short distance. The surrounding river and forest is just stunning, and we even were visited by a family of deer while enjoying the hot tub. Everything in the cabin was clearly labeled and very well stocked. Our host provided directions for a really cool trail that was a locals only spot and it was worth the trip! We can't wait to come back! Fall was a beautiful time to visit and the colors were amazing!

Amazing

The property was absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed the privacy of this cabin and the kids had a blast exploring the surrounding woods! We also caught a few trout in the creek! Dave was an excellent host and really takes care of his property! It was nice to walk in the cabin and see a bottle of wine welcoming us after a long car ride from Florida. The cabin is in a very convenient location, only 10 minutes away from anything you need in town! We will definitely be visiting Dave’s cabin again in the future. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Family girls trip

We had a great first ever family girls trip! Cabin was great, lots of games provided, great space outside for everyone to sit together and enjoy each others company! Fire pit by the water was wonderful! Hot tub was soo nice after a long day of hiking! The road to get to house was very bumpy and when leaving you have to do as the sign says and get up quick or you can slide backward like I did once! So 4x4 car would be better to have had! Lots of stairs to carry luggage up but it’s a great work out haha! Host very responsive and very quick with any questions!! Will def come again!

Beautiful home

Beautiful home and property. Walked into a very clean and organized home. The owner was friendly and very knowledgeable about local spots to visit. Even though we didn’t go do anything we had a blast just hanging out at the property enjoying the very large fireplace connected to the deck overlooking the river. Did a little fishing. Liked around the property. The home was completely furnished with perfect amount of games for adults and kids, fishing poles, linens, and towels everything was just right you did not need anything. The hot tub was fantastic very large clean. Everyone was very happy with the place we picked. Dave the property is a super nice guy and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. So thank you so much day for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back.

We will be back for sure, to the Waterside Cabin and to Dahlonega.

It's awesome that this cabin is just a hour from Alpharetta, GA and less than 2 hours from the Mercedes Stadium in Downtown Atlanta. We enjoyed a few days just before the SEC Championship Game. Marta rocks for transportation to get there. Yes to Dahlonega and Yes to the Waterside Cabin. Dave was a great host, providing us with excellent arrival information, directions and assistance. At the cabin we enjoyed the fireplace, the kitchen, the wood finishes, the huge porches, the privacy and the view of the river. In Dahlonega, we enjoyed the cafe for lunch, Grapevines for Italian, and strolling around the shops. And, the bonus surprise was an hour long drive north to cross the Appalachian trail. We found waterfalls and views. We did relax, and the waterside cabin was a great place for doing nothing, and as a base for some exploring. We will be back in the Spring and in the Fall. It's a bit off the path. Follow the instructions provided by Dave. It's worth the drive into the property. We will be back.

Perfect Getaway

After searching through VRBO cabins in Dahlonega my friends and I selected Dave’s Waterside Cabin for our getaway trip to celebrate my birthday. Dave was the perfect host from beginning to end. Leading up to our actual stay Dave quickly replied to my multiple emails that included many questions. Not only was he helpful with inquiries about the cabin and surrounding area, Dave gave me advise about my travel plans after my stay. During my stay Dave contacted me to make sure all was well. We were extremely pleased when we arrived at the cabin. It was immaculate! The property inside and outside is exactly as portrayed on the VRBO site. There were four in my group but the cabin could easily accommodate more than that with the separate bedrooms, living spaces and outdoor decks/seating. The cabin is well stocked with cooking supplies, and bed and bath suppliers. We enjoyed taking scenic drives from the cabin to hiking areas with waterfalls that Dave recommended. We also enjoyed a few more scenic drives to the local wineries. The town of Dahlonega is charming. We had two dinners in town which did not disappoint - also recommendations from Dave. A highlight for us was building a fire and sitting around the fire pit each night. In the morning we saw small deer on the hillside, and one of us even spotted a beaver in the river. If you are considering a stay, go ahead and book your trip you will be happy with your choice.
